What stats from fencer can transfer over and stillstack while holding a pistol in your hand

+Dodge?
+Melee Mitigation?
+Defense vs. X?
+Melee Defense?
+Ranged Defense?

Wait...Wes, does that mean Smuggler Melee mitigation doesn't work unless they disarm their own weapon? *Boggle* *Boggle*

No, it just means that Melee Mitigation doesn't STACK.

You either have it at a certain level or you don't.


If you have Melee Mitigation 3 from TKM and Melee Mitigation 1 from Fencer, your Melee Mitigation is 3.

Uh, no TashunkaSapa... Pistoleers (and carbines and rifles) have Ranged Mitigation, Brawler Elitesget Melee Mitigation and then Smugglers get both Melee Mitigation 1 and Ranged Mitigation 1....Wes' post implied that the melee mitigation doesn't work if you have a pistol out...didn't it?

Yep.. that's what I've been hearing... if that's wrong then, er.. oops?


You can't stack any mitigation, but I'd also read recently in a few posts that you can't have melee mitigation working if you've got ranged weapons equiped...

There have been dev posts that say ranged and melee mitigation only work with the appropriate weapon type equipped, and dev posts that say that you get it regardless of what weapon is equipped, it's kind of hard to test in game but I reckon it works. I've been a marksman/brawler hybrid a few times now and even when holding that pistol or rifle, I take less damage for being TKM or whatever.

wait wait, so will melee mitigation from the fencer treework or not with a pistol in my hand? Can I get some official input on this.

This is very important for the build im working on, ill explain

Master PIstoleer, 0040 Bounty Hunter, 3040 Fencer

[u]Offensively[/u]
+This givesthe power of eyeshot, torso shot alot with the speed and power to use em both.

+Speed Cap
+Scatter
+Sonic
+Intimidation
-No smuggler speacials (Last Ditch/Low Blow), but I feel its excessive when you have eyeshot and a decent pistol.


[u]Defensively[/u]
+This gives the power of Anti State changing (Anti Dizzy/KD/Posture Change/Blind/Stun) of both Fencer and Pistoleer
+This gives the power of Dodge from both Fencer and Pistoleer
+This gives the power of Ranged Mitigation 3 and Melee Mitigation 2
+This gives awesome +Melee Defense and +Ranged Defense stats
-No Medic, but i suppose it could always be traded for the defenses or the states/mitigation tree depending which you feel is better.




I feel this is the "sleeper" template that not many are using right now. Decent offensive capabilities (as always with a big enough wallet as a pistoleer), and astounding defensive capabilities. I plan on writing a guide for this when im done soon, and I consider this a pure PvP template (no commando splashes for killing at-sts or anything like that, heck even no jedi hunting).

I can't see why Melee Mitigation wouldn't work just because you have a ranged weapon equipped (but that wasn't the point I was trying to make anyhow). All I was trying to point out is that mitigations of the same type are not cumulative, level 3 in one prof and level 1 in another does not give you 4, or any more than the 3 you already have.

I can't see why they'd give Smugglers a mitigation type that can't be used with the weapon they fight with. Yes, Smuggler requires Unarmed IV but the Dirty Fighting tree is a pistol tree.

Thx for the great post. After reading your post I am going to go 4400 I think. However I may drop torso shot as your saying because even though its incredible PvE, its fire isnt what it used to be and doesnt hold clout in PvP.However I recently dueled a person and opened up with "Torso Shot, Health Shot2, Bleeding Shot" All with a decent republic blaster with a health mod, and spammed Torso from then on out, was actaully very good.

Does anyone know if bleeding stacks? Fire?
