Thread: Time to clear this up real fast..

First of all, I think melee mitigation is supposed to be a passive bonus always in effect, but it's broken and doesn't work unless a melee weapon is equipped. That would explain all the odd posts by the devs (some knowing how things works, some knowing how things are meant to work). I can't say I'd bet my life on it though, it was just something I made a mental note of when I first went Fencer/Pistoleer.



That being said, I'm 4400 Fencer, Master Pistoleer, BH 0030 atm, and although I havn't actually had a chance to properly test it yet (havn't gotten a buff since I finished it -_- I want a holiday again!). As you can see though, I don't have torso shot but I'm still wondering how useful it is (okay, so maybe the Bh forum might be a better place for that question...), any pointers? Got the pistols exp to get it as fast as I can find someone to train me anyway.


I get:


Def Blind 40

Def Stun 80

Def KD 100

Def Dizzy 40

Def Posture Change 70


... capped dodge and 91 ranged def, 116 melee def.


IfI moved into 4040 instead, I'd get:


Def Blind 80

Def Stun 40

Def KD 50

Def Dizzy 80

Def Posture Change 20

Def Intimidate 20


... still capped dodge, though much higher above the cap, same melee and ranged def andmelee mitigations I'm not sure I can rely on anyway. Now, I figured a high KD defense was more important because even if they have an easier time landing the dizzy, they'll have to work a bit to get me on the ground. Time which I'll spend shooting their eyes out. I figured, with the tentative melee mitigation screwup, that this would be the better way to go.


So what I'm still wondering is how useful TorsoShot (anyone?)is and whether the melee mitigation works or not.


But as I said, I havn't had the time to test it properly. I'll try and look for some official melee mitigation posts later today (got capped fencer exp aswell, so moving my template around remains easy I moved from MFencer/MPistoleer/0140Smuggler/2200Medic).

Pretty sure you'll have to drop torso shot to go 4400 fencer. To keep it you'd have to go either 3400 or 4300.


I triedmy templatethis evening in a 2h+ overt session and it worked just fine. Pretty hard to find even opposition just by running around randomly shooting imps, but the first guy I took down was some form of TKA and managed to get one hit on me before I landed my DB. Pikatta pie does wonders. Fully buffed, but for some reason he was not brandied. He attacked me first too.


Worst thing I ran into was a someform of TEF'ed pikeman thingy that managed to both land a dizzy and a KD, but by then I had guild reinforcement (Master Pistoleer but with parts of CM and Doc tucked into his template) and we made short work of him. (That, coupled with the fact that I never got into a KD dizzy loop, but got up just fine the first time Itried)


Later I tried dueling my guildie and although he won both times (first with geo, second with DE-10. I had my 32% dmg slice scatter ^_^) I chipped more than half of his mind away. I didn't have poison/disease resistance buffs though, so that might be counterable.


Fire + bleed stacks, and I think different kinds of other bleeds will stack, or the same bleed from different person. Multiple HS2 won't make him bleed twice though. Is bleedshot a mind or random bleed? I didn't realize I completely forgot to try it when fighting until just now.
