Thread: Dual?
Where have you seen a SW movie character stick out two blasters? Never. Even the Fetts had 1 pistol. This is SWG not Delta-Force-like-movie where Chuck Norris takes 9mm and kicks everyone's butt by shooting 54 bullets from the right hand one and 47 bullets from the other one without reloading. Who cares that the dumb crowd can't count.
Were not talking realism here, this is a game, offcourse and there are limitations. You are still able to keep 60 rocket launchers in your tint backpack, but the devs do seem to stick with the movies as much as they can.

With all due respect, you are incorrect. Jango Fett, he who all bounty hunters have since become modeled after, dual wielded his blasters. Check out his entry in the Star Wars databank at starwars.com
2 problems: 1) that would make pistols nearly twice as powerful and thus, overbalanced. 2) Jenga Fett doesn't count. EP 2 sucked. (besides Yoda's fight at the end)
seriously though, you would have to give some other comparable increase in power to all other combat professions to maintain class balancing. If they were to introduce this skill without doing that, they would have to give duel wielding pistoleers a severe hit in accuracy to compensate.
I was wondering about dual pistols as well, Im on my way to Pistoleer. But theres several ways to ballance dual pistols...
Make only certain pistols dual wield, which have lower damage.
Allow all pistols to be dual wielded, Increase their speed, but lower their damage with the dual wieldskill itself.
Reduce accuracy signifcantly when dual wielding.
