Thread: Top 10 Pistoleer Issues
I'm compiling a list of the Top 10 Pistoleer Issues to present to the developers.
Please listany issues you have with Pistoleeras clearly and as objectively as possible. Provide as much information as possible that would allow the issue to be repeatable and testable in the game.
Once there is a good list going we'll start topics on the most critical issues to further hash them out.
Thanks.
1) A PURE BH Pistol accuracy is +25 points higher than that of a PURE Pistoleer. I would understand if this was the other way around...or even if the two were even in skill...but for a BH to have 25+ points higher than another Elite profession which by title is its sole purpose is that to use a pistol...is makes no sense. We are called Pistoleers by title, but a better title for ourselves should be "Highly Defensive Marksman"...which leads me into the next problem..or fear...
2) Everyone is griping about our defensive skills and our range. When / If we are nerfed in these areas...there will be little reason to be a true pistoleer. We will become useless. At the point of nerfing, those that can will jump ship to the Bounty Hunter profession....(as they are better pistoleers to begin with)...will do so, and I wouldn't blame them.
3) General bugs...make things work the way they are suppose to...too many examples for me to even list them...
Will post more later...
I'm wondering if the DX2 is ever going to be a weapon that is as powerful as its requirements imply it should be. Right now, the only thing a DX2 has over any of the pistols is a slightly higher minimum damage. The HAM costs andmaximum damage are way out of whack.
Are the crafters just not experimenting enough or is the DX2 just meant to be a poor weapon with high prerequisites.
BH gets +60 acc + 50 speed.
Pistoleer gets +45 acc, +30 to hit while moving, +16 aimed, +25 speed.
Seems like similar #s, just different buckets.
I have not idea about pistol issues yet, everything is hypothetical.
How useful would that really be, though?
I have all my weapons hotbarred so I can quickly switch from weapon to weapon; if you disarmed me, I'd just hit f8 and boom, problem solved.
Pistoleer problem : It is not a real profession, only a bunch of skill that any other class yielding a pistol can achieve.
The pistoleer can not compete with CH, Droids.
There are no "real advantage" being pistoleer master, *lack of gun certification.
Interesting point, H8TRepeating. If I understand correctly, you are saying that the Pistoleer profession doesn't grant you the ability to do anything special, other than kill better with a pistol. Other professions like creature handler and droid engineer gain the ability to do things that no other profession can do, while pistoleer is just an improvement upon things everyone can do.
That's something I hadn't thought about before. What are everyone's thoughts on this?

Not if it removed the weapon from your inventory and placed it on the ground near you.
If you are having CH envy then just buy a Probot. Those combat droids do serious damage and can tank up a storm. They only cost 17-25k credits (but keep a supply of batteries).
The only issues I have with Pistoleer are related to the Weapon progression being odd. But as people point out the quality / trade offs on the pistols are not fully known yet.
