Seems like Marksman would be better than Techniques so I can start using Last Ditch more effectively, butmaybe Fan Shot worth having as supplement for fighting mobs... I'll have both eventually, just would like to know which one will help me master Pistoleer quicker.

I'm sure this question has been asked before, but I can't seem to find a definitive answer. Any definitive answers out there, or lacking such, any ejumacated gesses?

Thanks.

you should NOT be grinding with last ditch..... although it does have a high damage modifier, even with master pistoleer you'll still be firing many shots with a higher dps

last ditch should be used till the stun sticks, then switch to another special..... while grinding, use kip up shot/rollshot/healthshot1 until you get fanshot and pistol melee defense 1

healthshot1,a goodpistol whip, and finallylast ditch then switch to spamming fanshot and you're golden

What these people MEANT to say was: get fanshot first.

Correct about not using last ditch to level through pistoleer...use healthshot1 until you get fanshot.

Same here I was master smuggler b4 going pistoleer.

Lastditch is the best pistol shot in the game but it is slow because of the timer. I went 0004 to improve speed then went 0404 for accuracy then I went 0444 for the def and pistoleer shots I never use the 4444 to master.

i was a master smuggler when i started pistoleer... had alot of combat xp saved up so got 0/0/0/3 automatically basically.... then i went right for the dodge line /shrug seemed like a fine way to go for me i figured the higher i got my dodge the less i would be hit , would be a good thing... ...

but really the xp came so fast (also was the first proffession ive done that didnt feel like a grind) that i didnt think it mattered what i did first just went for whatever looked the most apealing at the time...

also if money isnt an issue, go to endor take yourself 2 missions, walk to them kill everything on the way and back and before u know it your buffs are done and u have a crap load of xp.... thats what i did anyways... also get yourself one of each gun just in case ......

one benift to going up the tech line 1st would be you get the geonosian pistol at tech 3.......

I'm currently in the middle of the pistoleer grind... let me relate my experience to you

I've been a master smuggler for a while and thought that last ditch was the bee's knees, but it wasn't. Once I started REALLY grinding, I went from pistoleer 1113 (had lots of extra combat xp) to 1344 in three days. I'm going to have it finished by the end of the week. Maybe even by tomorrow.

I used BODYshot 2 (healthshot is the bleed, don't do it... it eats your xp)with the occational lowblow (more damage with a kd)against huurton huntresses. 40-60k xp every half hour solo. Did the tech line first. Once I got fanshot,I upped that to 40-60k xp every 15-20 minutes solo. Due to the AoA, I assume with a pet tanking it would be even faster. You can use lastditch as a finishing move, but fanshot is THE thing you want for the grind.

Here's the problem with lastditch... it's too dang slow until you're a master pistoleer. AfterI master pistoleer, I'm gonna finish off marksman for the little extra bonuses, but for the grind it's pretty insignificant.

Now, I haven't gone to the geo caves or anything, but I've been told that those heavy dungeons with a group level you up even faster. I've been going solo, 'cuz I know it'll work. I'm sure there are faster ways than what I've done, but lastditch is defintitely not what you wanna use. Fanshot is the thing.

A bit of an update on my experience. Last night I went to the Geo caves with some friends. We just camped the three crazed geonosians at the entrance. It was me, a marksman, two novice TK's, a brawler, and a fencer (who wasn't using any of her specials), and some wookie's bunny that kept joining the brawl. Oh, and a doctor. I made it to 2444 pistoleer with 150k xp toward the next box before my buffs ran out. Basically, with all those relatively weak melee folks keeping the geos busy while I spammed fanshot (with the occational KD from lowblow), I was getting about 5k xp per kill and hardly being touched by the aggro. I was definitely doing the most damage. So, in 3 hours I made 700k xp or so.

The current wisdom is techniques to get FanShot, then marksmanship to get the accuracy, then finally the dodge line. The combat tree will climb of it's own accord.

I have no hard numbers, but from my experience the pistoleer specials are a bit more accurate than last ditch. I don't believe they were included in the specials accuracy test stickied to the top of the board. There are good mods in the techniques tree and they shouldn't be overlooked but I personally like to see all green in the combat log. I would train at least a block or two of accuracy before moving on to some of the others.

What's this about healthshot eating exp? FYI too, /healtshot2 hits harder than the best bodyshot. I can't see where it eats up much exp, but honestly I realized so early on that when they made the bleeding shot hit the health pool every time, that it was more efficient to use the bleeder _every_ time instead of /healthshot;/bodyshot. Maybe there's a difference, but I don't see it in the exp payout.

I mastered pistoleer while grinding faction. I capped out at 60600 faction and was already working up the smuggler tree. Fanshot's great for crowds, but you can easily master pistoleer without last ditch, I don't even have it yet (tomorrow likely).

All bleeds do. Whatever damage done by a bleed doesn't go toward combat xp. So, that rough combat xp line is screwedfor people using bleeds.

All I have to say is if you already have Last Ditch, don't even bother with the specials line, you've already got the best pistol special as is...work up the accuracy line or dodge, tho I'd say accuracy.
