I'm on starsider and I'm pretty far up the pistoleer tree and finally decided to start climbing the Bounty Hunter skill tree in pistols.

I have agreed before that pistoleers should be more powerful that BH in pistols cause we have to spend way more xp than they do. I still feel this reason but

The reason why the DEV's made the BH so freakin good at all their weapons is cause these investigation missions are the hardest thing I have done in the game

My mark looked like a normal guy he had a d18 pistol so I was like ok this will be a breeze

Wrong he hit for like 1000-1500 damage on every shot it was freakin ridiculous

This is the way all the missions are the mark (the guy you are hunting) is always this uber NPC who can dish out a ton of damage really really fast so this is why.

Let the DEV's explain or fix this issue before we go yelling for a nerf

Just to restate I do agree that the pistoleer should be as strong if not stronger than a Bounty Hunter cause we spend so much more xp than they do.

Ah.. my friend but you are wrong. Bounty Hunter is the hardest skill to get in the game. Mastering marksman, and scout is a tough job. Much Much harder then getting pistol 4. So if anything make Bounty Hunters stronger. What are you jealous pistoleers thinking. You have not spent more time on you skill than bounty hunters have. Try mastering both scout and marksman. Then getting 40k combat which takes a while. Leave the bounty hunters alone.

Im using the BH pistol line along with pistoleer and it seems to work very well. The massive speed and accuracy bonuses come in handy. Plus the BH missions are good cash.

Yeah... look, truth is, BH pistol and you have to only take that tree into account to compare with Pistoleer proff, is better? In PVP yes. But honestly both have their advantages, and get BOTH if you want to be the best pistol dude out there. The speed/accuracy bonuses I think make BH very potent more so then the skills. Basically eyeshot is the only one not matched in Pistoleer. YEah, Bleedshot has a little more punch then HEalth2, (at first) and torso is basically same dmg as bdyshot3, only, target bursts into flames which is always cool...

But whatever. I am happy as pistoleer, I only wish we got higher acc. and spd bonuses... give me more of that and I am really happy as pistoleer. And BHers are too common now, in my opinion. Uberist fighter, but, I saw 6-7 in oen starport... wasthere a Bounty Convention on Tatooine?

ok, to the person who said getting BH was harder than pistoleer. yes, getting novice BH IS harder than novice pistoleer BUT getting master pistoleer is much harder than getting bounty hunter. i finally made master pistoleer and was thinking about trying the BH pistol tree so i started xping scout and marksman, whoopdedoo after 2 days i am only 2 tiles away from master in both, easy as pie. dont act like getting 40k combat xp is horrible either. I had to get 150k combat to finish off pistoleer and by the time i got it i had enough pistol xp left over to buy all but the top BH pistol skills if i wanted them.

and to those complaining about overpowered BH's in fights. Im sure the other master pistols will agree with me. Once you are master (god forbidding a nerf) you can kill anyone pvp. it pretty much boils down to who knocks who down first. and if you shoot first you win. ive been accepting the challenges of cocky newly leveled BH's and have humbled them to the ground and left them bleeding without the favor of a deathblow

rock on my pistol brethren

I definetely don't want to see Bounty Hunter get nerfed, but I do think Pistoleers should be better with Pistols, especially concerning Pistol Accuracy and Speed. I'm not saying nerf Bounty Hunter, I'm saying increase Pistoleer. I am completely against removing or crippling any feature feature in the game other than Lag and Bugs.

The sad thing both Bounty Hunter and Pistoleer will likely be nerfed, there are far too many people whining constantly because there brawler gets beaten by a Pistoleer. Well duh.

the way i see it is this;

Image bounty hunter as a person who went to med school for 6 years. He learned a bunch of everything but nothign specific. Mostly general medical knowledge.

Pistoleer would be someone who went 4 years to a med school specifically for say, cancer and it's treatments.

Now, which would be better for a position in a hospital treating cancer patients??

just my 2 credits

how much xp it takes to get there is meaningless. xp is "free" and you can always get more. whats far more important is the amount of SKILL POINTS it takes. doing bounty hunter means sinking a ton of skill points into it, and it isbecause of those extra skill point expenditures that pistoleers dont really have a right to complain on this one. i'm a pistoleer and i'm glad i am not limited to just playing a combat class, like i probably would be if i had to drop all my skill points into scout and marksman skills that i dont really care about.

i'd like to get free xp... are they handing it out? Sign me up. Last i checked xp was earned.

Points are free, surrender them at anytime. If you have the xp, put them back at anytime.

Master scout is an after thought. I got master scout as I progressed towards novice commando by just harvesting and afk camping while I rest up. I will now argue that mastering unarmed otw to novice commando is as hard as mastering scout with MUCH less reward.

Real quick, BH's are better @ pistol right now then pistoleer. I feel it is unbalanced for pvp. The solution? If you make BH's weaker make their targets weaker or just hit for less damage. PvP is so out of whack on this game, overall its like a 4 out of 10 rating(10 being best pvp system).

They better not nerf the pistol line in the bounty hunter tree. I'm heading in that direction myself, first raising the pistol line in the BH tree then getting Master Pistoleer. This uses up almost all my points, and I certainly expect to be far better than a Pistoleer + Doctor or CH since I am a pure combat class, while the pistoleer + support class is a hybrid.

I don't havea clue why folks think mastering Marksman or Scout hard. Or getting 40k combat xp is hard.

Wedsday of this week I decided I want to try and master scout and marksman. Now I have been playing since day after release. Wedsday my skills where as such:

Exploration 4

Trapping 0

Hunting 4

Camping 2.5

Rifle 0

Carbine 0

pistol 4

Support 4

This evening I master all of the above. I had master marksman the day before. I finished carbine in one day and rifle in another all solo no groups at all except for like the last 1000 of rifle.

Camping I went out and harvested resources and making camps and trapsbefore dumping my artisan skill points and just made camp after camp as I did this. Easy one day.

Trapping took me the least amount of time of all of them. And took me longer cause I kept forgetting to use them.

And I am now sitting on almost 85k worth of combat xp.

I don't see this as being hard in anyway.

Wed I played about 5 hours

Thurs about 4 hours

Friday I got in a whopping 3.5

Sat (today) I played from around 9:00 am to 9:00 pm was the longest streach but I actually finished up both lines about 5:00 pm but didn't get trained till just before I quit. Oh after making master in the above I racked up another 350k worth of pistol xp from 5-9 so if I had chosen to I could have gotten bounty hunter and taken 2 pistol boxes of it or there abouts.

Now I grouped most of Saturday but my reason was to help out my PA members that needed xp and to get hides my pa armorer requested. The rest of the xp which was trapping came as I remembered to use the traps.

So I guess my next question is since I have now spent all this points on making camps and learning basic training ( marksmanship ) and have still chosen to go up the pistoleer line does this make a me a better pistol user then a bounty hunter?

BUZZZ Wrong! Thanks for playing.

But if I take the bounty hunter line and master my pistoleer then I will be......Anyone see something wrong with this?

Now I am not basing the bounty hunter per say. Just look at it bounty hunters. I took and spent the same time same skill points and purchased the same skill requirements as you. But it still makes me less accurate then you and gives me less speed unless I become one of you. So you see the issue?

Being a hunter ( scouting was miss named IMHO should have been hunter there is no recon in it.) doesn't give you a steadier hand better hand eye cordination or anything to improve your accuracy. Now getting the +1 speed I can see coming from hunter. As a hunter you have to be aware of your surrounds know what is going on around you at all time ect. That warrents better speed.

The balance that needs to be placed here is the additons to advance classes in accuracy should be the same. The bounty hunter by getting master marksman could then have a +10 accuracy that is give for mastering marksman. This would be balance. And anyone that chose to take marksman to master would then beable to be equal to it.
