There should be appropriate penalites to offset the possible power of Dual Wielding weapons...one of these penalties could be the realistic factor of a limited range. As ranged professionals we can fire from 64 meters away, but if we want to use 2 pistols at once it does not seem feasible. Discussion said we should be just out of melee's lunge range, but not so far that we can kite so easily.
This code is already evident in the programs architecture as Commandos have to face this normally.
We will also discuss accuracy problems as another possible hit. Remember there should always be balance, and dual wielding should be a tactical decision. The actual range number can be changed, this is more to see if this would be one of the feasible "down sides" to dual wielding.
So how would you vote on a limited range penalty to offset the powah of the dual wield side of the force?
A. 30m Range sounds fine to me.
B. No Limited Range Just higher accuracy hits.

30 meters sounds perfect:
30 - 10 meters could be ideal range, then just like with all ranged weapons, you start to become 'jammed' and not really have room to get off clear accurate shots...sort of the way it works now. Max/Ideal/0 meters
i agree, no range limit:
the penalty to accuracy gets exponentially worse after 30 meters. it should be pretty much abysmal at 64 even for masters.
eerrrr, in my excitement i don't think i made myself clear
B...i vote B
.:Edit:.
wow in 1,074 posts i think this is my first 'first'

a limited range seems like a good idea, but I don't quite understand how it would work. Would you be unable to fire specials outside 30m? Would you be unable to fire at all until youunequiped one of the pistols?Would you only be able to use one of your equipped pistols past 30m? With the weapon delay this could become painful.
Anyway, I changed my mind andwill cast anA vote, but it really depends on the details of the system.

B Sounds better to me. As pistoleers we want more speed than accuracy IMO. Plus, 30m range isn't that far when trying to kite melee. I'd suggest a different set of accuracy modifiers, like minus double the normal penalty.

The accuracy hit would be huge beyond 30 meters, but I like the idea of the accuracy hit being lower up close.

IMO pistoleers should suffer a 16m range restriction only when doing specials while duel wielding. This gives a big boost to fire power at close range with the option of extending the range by only using one pistol to aim more carefully.

B, it would be quite unrealistic not to be able to fire more than 30m away.

for "realistic" purposes, B. To truly aim, looking down the barrel or scope of a pistol would be near impossible wit htwo weaps in hand. I think that you would still be able to shoot just as far, you would just suck a little more.
Also, within 15 meters (or "lunge" range) there should be less or no accuracy penalty. someone standing that close is gonna get pumped full of lead (or acid or hot plasma... whatever).
My 2 creds.

Beyond 30m it should be horrible accuracymodifications for using two guns. We should be deadly at close range but only a random source of wild fire at long ranges.
