Thread: What creatures don't respond to warning shot?

I've recently realized that I can take pretty much anything by using warning shot, and keeping my wits about me.

But this got me wondering, what creatures do not respond to warning shot?

I don't do a lot of fighting, but tusk cats (on Naboo) seem to shrug off the WS. They're also lightning fast and hit hard. I still fight them occasionally because I hate them.I'm about 50/50 against them.

ive found that almost anything will resond - given enough shots - i usually stack 3 or 4 for larger, more aggressive types, eventually they turn tale. the creatues that ive found to be least responsive are all those of insect type. dont know if anyone else has found this to be the case or not

I dunno, there have been times when WS has worked on Rancors for me and times when it hasnt worked on rontos. I think its just random.

Ummmm whatever is on endor, wasn't responding to my spammed warning shots / suppressing fire. I couldn't tell whether it was an animal or human so I was shooting both. It killed me.

LOL! I guess that's is a case of shot first ask questions later?

I'm just trying to gauge the power of this particular shot...because it seems to work quite well on some creatures.

Thanks,

Iwould say 50/50 for me as well, but i might just be using wrong. When i first got it opened my battles with it, not a good idea thing would head for the hills. I was killing bull rontos the other day and sometimes it worked great and sometimes it only pissed them off.

Not sure if warning shot has anything to do with this but..... I have tried to fight some mountain dewbacks one on one just outside of Mos Eisley. At first the come charging towards me really fast and I have to use warning shot to get them to run away. For some reason though when they would come back towards me (and this only happened some of the time) they were extremely slow. I could just walk away from the dewback and shoot it. Its like it got slowed or something like that. Just wondering if this is a bug, or something I did, or something I should be doing.

Hulke,

For some reason mobs will slow down when WS'ed, not all the time, but when it does happen they are pretty much done. I believe this is a bug.

This is probably a dumb question that I should know, but I got warning shot from building up my rifle tree...can I use that same warning shot for pistol, too? Or is "warning shot" for pistol called something different? I just see a lot of people mentioning they use warning shot on this forum, and wasn't sure if they are cross class or what.

Forgive my ignorance, but I'm at work and thus cannot test it out :-)

I think you get Warning shot from your "Ranged Support" line don't you? Or am I thinking of Suppresion Fire?

But regardless, I use it with a pistol all the time...so yes you can use it with any ranged weapon I think.

Peace,

Dave

Both Warning Shot and Supressing Fire are from the Ranged Weapon Support tree and can be used with all ranged weapons.

A lot of the problem with Warning Shot is that after it hits the critter, the very next attack against that critter will null the effect. (ie, it's running for the hills, you shoot it again, now it's mad at you again and charges back)

If you really need to get an add off you though, Warning Shot followed immediately by PEACE will do the trick. If you've stacked a bleed on them however the next time the bleed ticks the mob will re-aggro you.

This is probably why many of you seem to encounter critters that are immune- nothing is immune from what I've been able to tell, but if you're shooting really fast or have a bleed ticking on the critter your Warning Shot effectiveness is going to be greatly reduced.
