Thread: What creatures don't respond to warning shot?

I've recently realized that I can take pretty much anything by using warning shot, and keeping my wits about me.
But this got me wondering, what creatures do not respond to warning shot?
Just curious, has anyone Warning Shot a Kyrat Dragon or a Rancor?
Does it work?
I have a feeling that weapon condition has an impact on the effectiveness of Warning Shot.
When I first bought my Scout Blaster a few weeks ago, WS was working on well over 90% of hits. It started working less often on the same creatures after a week of heavy use. I repaired it from 590/1000 to 811/811 and it seemed like WS might've been working better. I only used it for a couple days before I bought an FWG5 (after learning about mob resistance and damage type).
Mind you, I'm very conscious of when my WS is working properly--I did use WS and Mindshot to solo a Rancor and came close to soloing a Kimo in beta.
The WS with my new FWGwas practically neverfail, so long as I didn't miss with it. I was doing nitch missions and using WS to chase the nitches away so I could do the lair without using Burst Run; alot of WS spamming.
But late yesterday (after a weekend of very heavy use) my WS started becoming less dependable and today it wasn't working too well.My FWGwas at 670/1000 condition when I checked it. I flew to Coronet so I could craft a Weapon Repair Tool (I'm a Master Artisan too) at a private crafting station and repaired it to 950/950.
WS is working on nearly every hit again.
I don't have logs or numbers to back up my assertions here, so I don't want anyone to take it as gospel or anything. I'm just spewing my observations--which are, in and of themsleves, suspect since I smoke copious amounts weed when I play.

WOW...soloed a Rancor with WS! Hmm....looks like I'll have to try this ![]()
From the looks of it nothing is immune to warning shot...however I'm still not sure if the level of sucess on more powerful creatures decreases? When you fought the Racor did WS sucess rate (make it turn tail and run) workas well as it did on low level creature?
Thanks,
