Ok here is the low down, I love pistoleer, no matter how many of you gripe about it, it really is a fun proffession. I am also a master doc, so my template is master doc/ master pistoleer. Truth is there isnt a whole lot in the PVE world that I cant handle, but when it comes to PVP I need some help. I am very intrested in PVP, and I was wondering if any of you had stratagies you use in PVP, using pistols. Keep in mind that I am also a master doc. Any stratagies that any of you would care to sudgest would be VERY appreciated. THANKS, and please dont turn this into a "pistoleers cannot do squat in PVP" thread. I just want honest answers. THANKS!

What has always worked for me is being buffed, having good stun composite(with a PSG) and using food. I find having a geonosian sonic blaster helps quite a bit also. Against a single opponent, use HS2 or BS3 (depending on which has better DPS for you), and against multiple opponents, fan shot. That's all I can really say. Hope it helps

Thank you very much, when you say food, what food specifically? Also, what is considered a good geo. sonic blaster? Should it have a DOT? I dont want to spend 1.3 millino credits on a gun, but I am a doc (: so money isnt tooo tight.

If you have rogue it's a lot easier. Lowblow then lay into them with last ditch attack.

You don't need a krayted sonic blaster. Solid crafted ones can be found for 200k and with a good slice they can suit pvp pretty well. A republic blaster is also a nice pistol to have in case the opponent is wearing some stun layered armor. Some other nice things to have for pvp is some good stun layered composite armor(duh!). I find that with a stun rating of 4% I can do pretty good against a sonic blaster weilding pistoleer and a stun baton carrying fencer. Riflemen with jawa ion rifles are a different story...Obviously you'll want to always have doctor while pvping, try to get some entertainer buffs as well. As for foods I always carry Vasarian Brandy, Vagnerian Canape, and double-buff Vercupti. I use the Canape incase I don't have any musician buffs. If I do I use the Brandy and Vercupti. Judging by how you said you didn't want to spend 1.3 million on a pistol, I would say not to worry about attachments, but if you come across pistol speed or accuracy ones it might be a good buy. When you get down to actual firing of your weapon their isn't much you can do with only master pistoleer. I would suggest deppending on the speed of your pistol to fire Healthshot 2 or Stopping Shot.

Ok, thanks for the info, I really need it (:
As for the stun armor, I will defitnatly look into that, does it cost any more than just reg. comp armor? Also what would you consider a good skill tape?
Remember I am sorta slow so the steps so far are to get a descent gun, but it doesnt have to be the greatest, then some stun armor, then possibly some skill tapes, then load up on food.
We got the preparation down, now what are some actual techniques? I have heard alot about kiting but I have no idea what it is... basicly I am just using healthshot2? Is there a pistoleer move that lets you actually hit them with your gun and possibly knocks them down? is this worth considering? What are the actuall techniques you like to use when you PVP?
One big problem I have is when we start, boom , like I have 7 states next to my name, and I am assuming they are not good, would a technique be to keep my driod out and heal them all while continueing to fight?(I am a master doc) if so which ones are worth healing and which ones should I not worry about?
If I do all of the above, will I be up to par with the other prof. that I will be PVP?
THANK YOU SO MUCH for you replies!!!!

Well stun armor costs about 500k on valcyn, it's not too cheap. As for the tapes you'll want speed or accuracy ones with higher than +3.
As for actual techniques...Kiting would be running and shooting at a target so they can't catch you. This is effective for combatting melee and ranged professions as pistoleers have the highest accuracy while moving modifier. HS2 is a good attack to spam people to death with, but only if they have no medic skills. As for the KD thing you have some options, PMD1 kds, but it can only be used if you are within 10m of your target. Lowblow is another option, but you'll need to go up dirty fighting for that one, it kds from range.
As for the state effects you should clear dizzy, poison, disease, and bleed. Everything else is just a waste of time to cure.
As for being on par with other pvp professions... you'll need some very nice equipment for it, we're not a very powerful class afterall...

LOL, thats somewhat depressing... thanks for all your help, I will be working my tail off, and spending a BUNCH of money, but it wont really help, cuz pistoleer stinks (: LOL JK, thank you very much for your help. (no sarcasm) with this I should be able to be very strong support for pvp, since I can rez, cure disease among other things, and still be able to do some descent damage. Thanks again!

Pistoleer doesn't get good until you have a template built around it and some equipment

In all honesty, if you are gonna pvp as a master doc/master pistoleer, you need to realize your role. You are a support person. Thats a good thing. You have no room for defenses or Smuggler DF, and quite honestly only last ditch is good from that line. Any serious pvper will not be knocked down by lowblow. Truth is you have little defenses. +7 ranged defense and +45 melee. You need to cure dizzy immediatly. If you dont you are done. You have only +20 posture change. I would prolly take brandy and thakitillo and 1 canape and get entertainer buffs for the rest of the mind. Keep it simple. You can take all the mind buffing food in the world but it does you no good if you are flat on your back and cannot get up other than buy you time for your buddies to get there and even then they will finish you first. I would put my money into a good helmet, Brandy, Canape and Thak. Again, you need to stay on your feet.
Make sure to pick up novice brawler for intimidate and if you are that close to a good pvper then intimidate first and run like crazy. Hope your buddies help you. You are a great asset against combat medics. You are needed in the group, you just need to keep your distance and let others do the damage dealing especially up close. In a heavy battle with combat medicsthey will come running home to mama when you finish defeating the enemy. You will be very popular after the battle especially if the combat medics have had their way and your buddies dont have tka meditate 4... In any event set your expectations now so you are not dissapointed..
Have fun!!!!!!!!

This is my template can anyone tell me if it would be good for PVP. Master TK/Master Pistoleer/Defence and Dodge Line of Fencer/Dirty Fighting Line of Smuggler. Let me know what you think, I feel this might be a good one.
