Thread: Attention Pistoleers: People Laugh in PvP Quite Hard about Your Profession

Pistoleer is a joke. When I shoot someone with my 1.5 million geonosian pistol, it tickles them.

Attention Pistoleers, you are holding nothing more than a BB gun unless you own a 5-10 million credit weapon.
Useless.

That 160-272 DX2 will kill YOU!

Your most effective shot in PvP is HealthShot2, it far outshines BodyShot 2/3. If your target has any capacity to heal, you are obselete.
End Game.

Here's to all of us patiently awaiting the combat balance. Pistoleer is the only combat profession that isn't.

I actually fair very well against Riflemen and Fencers... when we fight unarmored. Of course, I'm also a master smuggler and master marksman, so things are a little different.

What do you target on them? What do they target on you? (pool wise, or specials used)

You are kiting the fencer right?

If you suck at PvP doesn't mean the prof sucks. I am pretty effective with pistols taking out rifle men and melee alike. Use tatics not ignorant running into battles blaring your guns. By the way I'm not sure at master but health shot 1 is better then 2. It spams faster.

Life is but a gamble and I have weighted dice.
Master Smuggler and master TKA maybe master pistoleer but who knows how long it will before I finally switch from unarmed.

LOL baslisks, I am hardly angered by your post. Creating a thread with such an acid tone as I have done does well to attrack negative posts. As a matter of fact, I 5 starred your above post for humor.

First off, don't say I have no knowlegde of PvP or that I "suck". You have no idea in truth how much I'm seasoned as a PvP'er, it makes you look ignorant.

Second I only pull my pistol when it is in tact. If you guys are telling me you've downed buffed and armored fencers and rifleman in PvP without the aid of BH skills, i'm going to have to call bullshiit on this one. If you are taking them one on one without a decent stun pistol (usually 1 mil or above), I won't buy it.

It is easier to take out a person who is alone with a pistol in my experience. You can target their health, and there is the possibility that they can't heal. If they are in a group, usually the damage you do is so slow it can be healed.

The ONLY tactfully poised situation to kill someone with a pistol in modern PvP is target an someone without stun armor who can't heal themselves. The only exception is a non-stun protected melee fighter that you can kite long enough to grind their unbuffed mind down to zero.

Shoot me down if you want, but those are the only two "prime" targets there are as a pistoleer in non-dueling, GCW centered PvP.

Eliminate kiting??? That's the only tactic available to a ranged profession to counter a melee ass-beating. I think it'd be terribly hard to nerf kiting seeing how natural it is to both the real world, and how naturally coded it is to the game. If anyone needs a nerf, it is the use of poisons/diseases in PvP.

Low blow panic shot with a scout and pick up my geno if they have stun armor I sewitch to a krayt dx2 and spam health shot 1. I'm not master and I have fun. If anything larger I use fanshot to do as much damage as I die a slow death.

Hey Ternque01, your post just makes me even more proud to be a pistoleer. We are all fully aware of our good abilities and our bad. You say pistoleers are the only ones not waiting for the combat rebalance? Why don't you have a read of the 15+ pages of the pistoleer posts and say that again.

If you hate pistoleer so much then why are you one anyway? Seems kindasad that someone would stay with a profession that they feel is a big joke.

Yeah I might have to get some more specials. I'll go Smuggler again

i was in the med center, complaining about pistoleer (my favorite pasttime ) ... all the suddensome **edit** comes up to me and tells me how amazingly powerful pistoleers are if they are played correctly.

sure, if you are buffed/armored/prepared, and the enemy is not. but a buffed/armored/prepared pistoleer pales in comparison to any other buffed/armored/prepared combat only profession.

/agree I hate having to be buffed/armored all the time. It makes regular hunting no fun. Sure I'm powerful as the Force, but it's more fun when there's risk involved.
