I consider the future and the dominant silhouette on the horizon for me is the Combat Revamp. I'm under the impression that rifles will not be firing at the speed cap any longer. I await your return with open arms. :X

They always come back.

I can truely say from first-hand experience that Pistoleer in every shape and form sucks horribly in comparison. If you're currently master pistoleer, I'd consider your future carefully.

Actually with the coming rebalance if I were a rifleman I would be consideringmy future carefully. The nerf bat is coming for the rifleman, while the pistoleer can only get better.

Most of the current riflemen will leave the profession for the next FOTM because theywon't be able touse the "win" button anymore, and will have to use tactics (which few have because they don't need them). Maybe then the riflemen will try to figure out how to use scatter shot and suprise shot, but for now headshot3 and strafeshot2 are all you need on your tool bar. Just about any dope can grind up to master rifleman and do good in PvP and PvE at the moment. Why? Because the devs borked the profession when the revamped it back in Sept or October adding the insane speed and accuracy mods that completely override their weapon's inherent limitations.

I have played with rilfeman on my alt account, but it wasfar too easy to be uber. Strap on a few speed tapes, a nice damaged sliced T21 and damage sliced Jawa Ion in your pocket and your uber. Bleh!

The thing is, those who are now Master Pistoleers, such as myself and the majority of the population on these boards, love pistols and know very well what their limitations are and how to use their abilities. I've taken out a few master riflemen before, in even circumstances ... yes, both fully buffed. The name of the game for pistoleers is tactics, whereas riflemen, as someone previously mentioned, have a "win" button on their toolbar. Once they get bumped down a few pegs, they'll see carbineers and pistoleers taking them out regularly, and won't understand what's going on, until they realize they must use tactics ... God forbid!!!!

i believe that our months of suckiness will be our fortitude for the upcoming combat balance

we've had to run, dodge, eat food, hoard skill tapes like no tomorrow, get the uberest weapons, actually TRY to win in a fight over the past few months and all those skills we've learned will carry over while many people who have been spoiled with situations far beyond the expected level will have to re-learn how to fight again.

First of all, Pistoleers only "sucks horribly" in PvP when compared to Riflemen. In PvE we're not so bad.

Secondly, it's too bad they don't make Nerf resistant armor for Riflemen, because come the Combat Balance you'll wish you had it.

Take the blue pill,Ô
Play SWG, never dual-wield your pistols and believe whatever you want to believe.
Take the red pill,Ô
Play MxO, and I will show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.

SWG was never the game I wanted it to be, even before the NGE. All the NGE did is take away what gameplay SWG actually did have.

I totally agree, its about tactics! Try thinking, you might kill something you didn't know you could.

Rogue + Master Pistoleer > Rifleman

I really wish the commando part of my template wasn't so much dead weight though.

I wish the above were true most of the time but really is only true with godly pistol weapons and good tactics or noob riflemen with poor weaps.

I've hadthem both and my rifle is much tougher.I like to switch to pistol for the dodge up close while im laying the intimidate on them. Remember rifle gets a stun with a stronger weapon. Plus using strafe at the speed cap with a 700+ t21 or 600+ acid rifle or even a nice jawa will leave pretty much any pistol in the dust even with the +6 damage mod you get from Last Ditch.

If you consider headshot spam to be the "win" button, that says so much more about your tactics in PvP than it does about theirs.

I'm still pistoleer but I hardly ever use it in pvp unless there are unarmoured opponents around or I'm trying to take out somebody's bike.
For a little while I had a nice krayt geno pistol when nobody was wearing stun chest pieces. It was nice for a bit but then everyone got wise. So it's back to tkm'ing it and waiting on the combat balance.
