Actually with the coming rebalance if I were a rifleman I would be consideringmy future carefully. The nerf bat is coming for the rifleman, while the pistoleer can only get better.

Most of the current riflemen will leave the profession for the next FOTM because theywon't be able touse the "win" button anymore, and will have to use tactics

If you consider headshot spam to be the "win" button, that says so much more about your tactics in PvP than it does about theirs.

Oh my PvP skills are fine. I've taken out my share of so called "uber" riflemen. When you listen to these guys all they talk about is their head shot, half of them don't even know what the rest of their specials do or how to play the class effectively. For example this thread:

After the rebalance we'll see how many riflemen will stick with the profession.

Dracul Sturm Master Smuggler - Rebel Colonel - Alliance Ace Pilot - Intrepid
Wraythe Sturm +12 Master Weaponsmith - Imperial Ace Pilot - Intrepid
Corndog Force Sandwhich Slicer - Smuggler Alliance Master Pilot - Intrepid
Corny Guild Monkey - Alliance Ace Pilot - Intrepid
Rebel Faction Sales: 110cr/point
Weapons, Spices, Faction Deeds Vendor - Phoenix Rising Mall, Phoenix, Talus
IPS Pooh Slinger - Bringing you the most irrelevent posts in the galaxy

- In memory of SWG R.I.P. 6/26/2003-4/26/2005, now on to SWQ

LOL riflemen. I can own them one-on-one 9 times in 10 if I keep at good range and keep them moving.

I think all of you that bail on pistoleer will want to come back after the revamp. We may not be the highest damage dealers come revamp (not that we are now) but I think we will become even more versatile

This is very true Doc. The only one-on-one battles that are truly tough even if you're prepared are CM/Any Decent Class.

As for versatility, I like that I can use TKM first up in a fight to apply states and maybe get a KD, but after some of those stick, I whip out the guns and start blasting. Against rifles, staying close enough with a good short-range pistol makes things fairly equivalent. And being in close enough range to sometimes lunge or get the KD on him again makes it tough for them to move into their effective range.

We're not uber or an automatic win by any means, but for me, like for many of us, blasters=Star Wars, and if played well, it competitive enough.
