Thread: Power Leveling Pistoleer (DO IT BEFORE THE PATCH)
There are a few requirements for this to work. First and foremost you need a good FWG5. Secondly you need Stopping shot at least, Fanshot and your golden (you could pull through with just BS2 in the early stages, and get SS and FS, but slower going). Stances, the more the better, but certainly not required.
1) Get CH 1/1/0/0. This skill point input is very cheap for the rewards you will soon reap from it. This should take a few days TOPS to earn, knowing the tricks, it could take a few hours.
2) Buy a full grown GSP (it will pay for itself 200 times over). People will be selling them for dirt cheap thanks to the stat changes on them next patch.
3)Buy A LOT of pet stimpacks. If you have medic you are set. If you dont' have medic, but have the skill points available, get novice medic and buy a lot of very good stim B's.
4) Go to Dathomir and get Baz Nitch missions. (this used to be harder but with mounts out you can get straight to the mission with no conflict)
5) Make 22k credits and60k pistol xp every 20 minutes.
6) Patch comes out: Drop your CH skills (medic skills also?)and swim through your credits laughing your ass off with your master gunfighter title above your head.
This worked for me. Went from0/0/3/2 pistoleer to Master within 10 days (granted I played a lot during that time),made 1million credits, leveled my CH to 4/4/1/4, and medic to 4/4/4/4 (dropping medic skills for CH skills on the way to mastery).
Thought I would add. If you JUST want to level the Pistoleer it'd take less than 10 days of course (I was sitting in cantinas grinding medic, and out in the wild looking for creatures etc). At a rate of 20 minitues for 60k exp you will reach the Master Box with about 25 hours of gameplay going from step 4 to master. Throw in about 5 hours of gameplay to get CH 1/1/0/0 and then consider the patch to go in around the 13th or 14th.
30hrs/11.5 days = about 2.6 hours per day. Throw in healing time and trips to buy stims and you are running about 3 hrs of gameplay per day to get master by the patch time. If you power game you could have Master Pistoleer within 5 days of starting this.
What kinda tactic did you use?
Im CH 1-1-0-0 and medic 4-0-2-0, I should do fine I think... And pistoleer 0-0-2-1 I might add ![]()

I would recommend novice medic to heal your action bar. Fanshot spam is a great PvE attack, but it only works effectively if you have medic skills. Oh and always remember that the more you spam, themore damage you do, the more exp you get(the pet's damage will reduce the amount of exp you get), and the less you have to heal your pet.
use HS1 HS2, spam BS2/stopping
If you have fanshot, spam fanshot
use your pet to take agro from both of the nitch before you start shooting, and if one agro's you, use the cat to get him off of you (you have to stop shooting it and run around a bit).
My advice- use a BH/Pistoleer hybrid for easy pistol xp. BH pistol line first, using combat xp for pistol melee defense. After completing the BH pistol line, I leveled the trickshot line, then the rest came easy...
I used to open with the following macrowhen attacking....
/torsoshot;
/bleedingshot;
/eyeshot;
/healthshot1;
/healthshot2;
/fanshot;
/fanshot;
/fanshot
I did this about 15m from the target and after the macro was completed, I would walk to within 5m of the target and hit them with a pistolwhip and spam fanshot till it was dead. Hit the Stim B and focus on the other one. Lather, Rinse and repeat...
The best skills to have to gather the pistol xp is bleedingshot and torsoshot. Dropped the BH pistol line when I ran out of skill points and added them to the Gunslinger line. With the bonuses to speed and accuracy that BH pistol offers- taking any creature out fast was much easier than without. Once I lost them to complete pistoleer, I was sad for a little while- that was until I got multi-target and Bodyshot 3.
I returned to BH after mastering pistoleer because for sheer speedand variety of specials, you can't beat a BH Expert/quickdraw/trickshot/Dead-Eye hybrid...
"right now im master ch and 0 2 4 2 pistoleer..recently started leveling pistol again..but in dantooine taking Bol Missions...would it be better to take Baz Nitch missions? Ive never taken one. "
Bol missions are good, but there are two problems with them using my template above. They tend to run from pets and they aren't vulnerable to heat. Baz Nitch are vunlernable to heat, with an FWG5 you are gonna splatter him against the wall. Plus, they very rarely run from your pet.

Try to start from pistoleer 0/0/3/2 and get torso shot in 5 hrs of gameplay. You can get a GSP in 2 hours of gameplay min, 5hrs tops. I'm not saying that your setup wouldn't be good, but considering that in 5hrs you can set yourself up to never die (and very rarely be hit) by a baz nitch on a single mission is a better path when the patch comes out in 11 days.
yeah- Baz Nitch lairs are good
I soloed Defilers using a Rock Beetle tank when they were the cash cow. Giant Baz Nitches are the"New Defilers"-using the same equation- 2 outside, 4 total inside- kill the ones outside, tap the lair ONE SHOT to release the second two, then once they are dead, take the lair down by 1/3 (or about 25-26k left) then finish the job. The BH pistol tactic works well as bleed and torso do more tick damage. The tick damage actually increases your pistol xp. I still get 4k each Giant Baz Nitch I kill- using a GSP now too, but any tank will do if you have the BH pistol line to start... Speed being the true name of the game- I can rack up enough xp fast...
I gained master pistoleer in12 hours totalfrom the time I started to the time I mastered. No joke. Solo effort for maximum xp, buffs out the yin-yang, (no spice) heavens breath and the other willpower increasing food... (don't remeber the name) No armor... Sit to regen if my mind got below 200, otherwise- kept pushing it.
I agree with you about how easy it is now- It can be just as easy after the patch if you find a friend who is a brawler class (TKA, Swordsman, etc...) and have them tank. I have done this with a swordsman friend and as long as I stay within 5m of him to heal him if he needs it- it's all good...
there are easier ways to get xp(although tis is somewhat of a variation of what you do) I have gotten as much as like 230k weapons xp in an hour easy (on multiple ocasions, and at times higher)doing this. this is how i leveled up back in the summer, and its how i level up still (i havent played since augest 31 until last weekend( took my alienware home for thxgiving break). have a friend (i usually get a master ch friend because i have a lot of powerful friends)
have them take 1 or more graul maulers or rancors out (somethign with armor and high resists) and have them sic 1 pet on a critter or lair. if u have multiple pets out go with the lair. have your friend then do the come command with his pets to bring the critters closer. proceed to then double bleed (healthshot1, healthshot2) every critter attacking the pets, while maintaining your distance and lkeeping the pets between you and the critters. (the bleeds help the pets kill faster) then just wail on the critters with like point blank area 1 (by distance i mean 4+ meters, enough for the pets to keep theem off you) for a few seconds to make sure you will get xp of all the pets (incase some get killed before you get a chance to do an appropriate amount of damage) then just use your regular auto attack, or any special of your choice (bodyshot 2 makes it faster, especially if you bled the critters) jsut make sure you shoot at them and change targets frequently (if they pull away from the tanks, tell your friend to attack them with his pets to draw them back) as long as you are shooting the critters for most of teh time damage is dealt to them, you will get full or near full weapons xp, and your friend will also get ch xp of course too. this can net a rather large aount of xp.
to really power level, you need a second high level ch friend to be there too.have your friend poke the lairpoke the lair in the middle of you and your first friend killing the first wave of critters, run back a few meters, have him do the same thing as the first friend, and you do the same procedure to these as well. you can clear a whole lair of critters out in less than 5 minutes, and on a planet liek dantoine, you will be getting like 3-4.5 k xp per kill doing this, you can essentialyl get 30k xp in a matter of 10-12 mintues doing this (if you have enough people helping (tanking) you.
to get get combat xp doing this, you can do the same thign (so u get weapons xp at the same time , OR you can just bleed while the pets attack and tossa grenade whether or not you are certified.
In my opinion this is a varioation of your method which works SIGNIFICANTLY faster, and is able to complementt my lack of playtie since i moved into a college with a restrictive firewall where i can only play on rare weekends when i carry my computer (a badass maxxed specification alienware) home with me (as to the fact i live about 35 minute from school)
*************these methods work for ANY type of weapons xp***************
It also helps oif one of our friends has tracking 4 in ranger, so you can target lairs without havng to pick up missins repeatedly.
voritors, bols and pikets work great (on dantoine), and kamuriths (because they have no resists ( and thus die rather quickly while yielding 3800-4k+ xp at teh same time) on dathomir. Personalyl I have chosen to avoid baz nithes since they became super nerfed, and social and aggressive creatures who have a high tendency of slaying. Getting killed significantly slows down your progress in any type of weapons/combat xp. Theoreticalyl i could probably master any combat profession in just a few days time (if i had the time to play)
try this it works.
back before baz nitches got nerfed i used to kill those things just by spamming melee defense 1.
i gues i have nice friends then... these guys came to help me like this after i mysteriously disappeared on sept 1 (until last weekend) (**edit** university firewall...) I also will pay people to go do this for me as well from time to time if i cant get someone. Go to the imp outpost on dantoine and /who for a mch if you are polite (especially if you offer to pay) many poeople will be more than glad to help.
