Thread: Weapon Hinderance
Modify movement speed"
Oh. I didnt notice.

Well, we do have the advantage. The movement reduction is less when you are holding a pistol than it is when you are holding a rifle.
Still, the system I think is dumbed down way to much. why is the weapon hinderence the same for a spraystick and a T21?
By the same token why is the weapon hinderence MORE for a spaystick than that cannon called a DE-10?

How come you have max accuracy with a T-21 when running full speed?
How come firing with a T-21 at 5m range is as easy as from 75?

1. you don't, It's just that there are no numbers above your targets head anymore to show you the penalty another dumbed down aspect of the CU
2. Because of geometry. the further away your target is, the tighter your margin of error is, at 5m 1/8 of an inch is the width of a bullet, at 500m, it's the difference between a kill shot and Maggies drawers.

Hmmm. Are you sure?
Same reason wielding an LVA is no hinderance while carrying a Scout Blaster is.

Try hitting a MDEF jedi who is force running 2 while you are burstrunning, it just doesn't happen. Also rifleman do get an accuracy penalty for close range, its just not shown... Ackehece can confirm this.
With~200 accuracy I do not expect to hit a 255+500=755rd/50 block Jedi even when both of us stand still...

nothing?
remember also that pistols streanth is there speed, rifles streangh is there accuracy....
when you combine duet pyro with aim and snipershot, a rifle hits like a brick wall.
simply put pistols have a harder time against high defense targets, they hit less often percentage wise, and do less damge due to there lower accuracy and lower damage, that is not to say they aren't viable. There is more than 1 dead Mdef jedi that had died from my pistol.
You have to use completely differnt tactics when useing a pistol over a rifle, pistols are in close weapons that while fire rapidly, don't do that much damage. Pistol fights tend to be longer more drawn out fights, it's more of a back alley brawl than anything else. Rifles use more of an alpha strike capability. nice clean kills, problem is if the rifleman doesn't get that quick kill, they are on the defensive, constantly trying to keep there opponent out of killing range.
A bit of historical perspective to. at the shoot out at the ok corral, if I remember high school history correctly, 27 shots were fired at a ranged of 5 feet. 2 rounds connected.
