This is just the first round of items placed on the test center, they can very well add more to be tested in the weeks ahead before publish 8 goes live. They stated that all the professions will be fixed in patch 8, although that may change. If it isn't in patch 8, it probably will be in patch 9. Just need to be patient and wait for it, pistoleer is perfectly functional now, the "fixes" will be welcome, but it is something that we should wait for to make sure they are done correctly. (Yes it would be nice for the devs to tell us, but I rather they work on the issues than come here and give us a daily update). In the mean time, have fun with the corvette

Alrighty - just rad the publish 8 notes from TC.
We get a dodge fix, and that's it.
Now, without completely losing mypatience I have just one question I want answered.
It's not difficult, nor does it compromise anything else the Devs are working on.
I want to know an ETA for our profession to be fixed.
Not a 'it will be fixed in the revamp/rebalance/when the stars are right'
I simply want an official response - tell me and the rest of the paying customers when we're going to get afixed profession.
Ibelieve there are a large number of dissatisfied customers on this and other forums and all I'm asking for is a comment from the Devs as to an actualtime - it's not too much to ask is it?
Feel free to add your comments (as I know you will!)

tlk,
it depends upon what your definition of 'functional' is.
do we shoot pistols? yes.
are we comparable to other pure combat professions? no.
can we do anything interesting with our weapons? no - just a bleed, a pistol whip, and broken random HAM attacks.
are we to be feared in combat? no.
are we useful in high level pve? no.
pvp? no way.

Gonna have to disagree on that last point...my Geo Pistol is something people fear, and I get the cert at.....Techniques 2!

The other dayI faced 6 people by myself...I killed 5 of them, the 6th ran away...
(I was using a pistoleer special)
Just becauseyou aren't effective in PvP, doesn't mean this class isn't...

what have u stacked with pistoleer??
what professions were they?
Where they buffed?
where they total and uber noobs?
Where they other gunfighters who arnt as "skilled as you"?
are we feared in pvp? HELL NO

well, I am a TKM / MGF / Master Smuggler. I was using Fanshot. Witha Geo Blaster. For 400 damage every 1.5 seconds or so. They were buffed. They were armored (except for one wookiee).
1 was a TKM.
1 was a CM/Rifleman
the wookiee was a Heavy Swordsman.
the other 3 were various levels of Riflemen.
Can we be feared in PvP? If you are smart. Don't go using your Per-nerf Fwg5 against someone in full armor and Ranged Mitigation 3...because that's akin to throwing rocks...
I know that I'm not the best PvPer out there, or even the best Pistoleer PvPer out there...you just need to learn how to play your class effectively, and get your gear together...
So I'm sorry that you think that our class is gimped, but go try playing a Carbineer (and it's a lot better now than it was), or a Bounty Hunter, where all of your defense comes from the Marksman tree. Try grinding Carbines, and getting legshot3, and realizing that it's the exact same as legshot2...including the name in the combat spam.
Do we have stuff that doesn't work as well as we want it to? Yes. Are we *gimped?* Maybe by ourselves...
If you want to get better in PvP, do this:
Find yourself a Geo. Blaster.
Find yourself some good stun armor. Get it sliced. Pray to the slice gods for base slices.
Find yourself a Doc. Get Buffs.
Find a Master Dancer/Master Musician. Repeat as above.
Clone.
Play.
Use what you have available to you is the best advice I can give...our day will come when they give us a look...until then, either do your best, or quit...

Ok so 4 were noobs and 2 had no fin idea what they were doing if they couldnt bring u down. Ive done that before to man but the people were idiots. Im a master gunfighter/bh 0340 i would much rather be a master gunfighter/doc but then i would be a laughing stock again.
For example the tkm could have had you on the ground before you knew what happened
the rifleman/cm could land a 500 mind tic poison on you and play marri-go-round around buildings with you as the 4 "riflemen" spammed headshot. Trust me you would have been dead up against the rifle/cm if he knew what he was doing. At 400 damage a spam it would have taken a very long time to get their buffed stats down as half of that would regen as you shot away at it.
I have 39% stun sliced 80% compo armour i can own a lot of people with my template but its using more bh specials than gunfighter. Against unbuffed players they might as well just lie down and die, but most everyone is buffed now so us hitting the health bar doesnt do much good since health buffs are normally the most powerful.

I'll give you that they might not have known what they were doing; I caught them off guard...as far as why they didn't kill me...who knows. Perhaps the fact that I had 4k mind, and killed the Cm before he could stack poisons on me might have had something to do with it. He managed to get a 200 or so Poison on me before I singled him out and took him down.
All I'm saying is if you are prepared, it is possible for you to be effective in PvP...

Yeah thats using an uber million credit pistol. A gun that is only available from a looted schematic. Most of these guys can't afford that. A plain ol' rifleman will own a plain ol' pistoleer anyday. And I'll bet if you went up against a rifleman with a pre-nerf T-21 you'd be cloned.
