After spending weeks in space I started to miss the ground, so I went to the vette with some friends, long story short my armour got trashed, started to fight with no armour, unbuffed and shocked myself, doing darn good fighting this way and loving it.

So what can I fight this way, that will give me a run for the money?

LMAO my action bar is the ony reason I can't kill large creatures. The speicals drain it so fast. I take on tortons on rori. Those are tough. ummm, idk what else. Whatever I can get on the mission terminals by myself I have been able to do unbuffed.

If you want a true solo challenge, go to Dath, Dant, or Endor and take the highest-paying missions you can with nothing/no one grouped with you. Then do the same thing with a pet, then with a pet and a friend, and so on, and so forth.

If Istay on top of my stims, and wear some padded armor I can take a ravenous torton on Rori for sure.

Huurton Stalkers are a challeng, but doable. Even Janta scouts are doable if you're sharp on the heals and use PMD1 to spam as much Health damage into it as you can while it's KDed.

Head to Dath and go against the sisters unbuffed and unarmored. I can comfortably do Initiates and outcasts, and am positive I can take a spellweaver with the right food combo.

Mpistol/Mdoc /nov brawler

It's nice because you can work your way up the chain till you get to some that are a challenge.

Good stims and +25 healing clothes on I can handle most things from mission terms with a quick pistol using fanshot :mokks, hurton huntresses, etc. Fanshot and kiting away its not too bad, though I get swamped on large sologroup missions. As a novice swordsman I seemed to fair even better and could do level99 pikets comfortably withminimal armour, but I wouldn't like to try it with pistols.

It's a lot more fun this way as it keeps you on your toes

Depending on how good you are, and how tough your buffs are, you can end up spending almost as much on stims as you do on buffs! LOL

What i like about pistoleer is the low special cost. I can spam any attack i have and hardly feel it. When i pick up my carbine, rifle, or gaffi though, it hurts. It is so empowering to attack with specials for a minute or two while unbuffed/unfoodatized. anything else and i'd be grabbing those stims in a blink of an eye.

Heh, I was about to post the same thing.

Used to cost me a fortune in stims before I got a doc on a second account.

I used to play unbuffed most of the time and would basically be hitting heals all the time in combat...

With pistoleer you can spam quite a few specials before needing a heal, and thats not taking damage into account.

I remember grinding up pikes for Master Brawler during the hologrind... Special, Special, Heal... Special, Special, Heal...

As for the biggest thing I took down, I did manage to PvP fairly well unbuffed, but then I was just using CM a lot.

Reminds me of grinding master marksman with no buffs..... was playing for 3 weeks before I even knew what buffs were

I have only been playing for8 months, but its amazing how different a lot of the new players seem to be - not all of of them, but most of themdon't even consider going out hunting with no buffs. Hence the constant "I need 15k for buffs so I can go out and grind" messages that finally made me take my Helper Title off the other week.

In my opinions the current state ofbuffs takes a lot of fun out of the game and encourages people to go out and solo high end mobs, DWB, Geo caves etc - instead of grouping up and doing them the way they were designed to be done.

Every time I go out without buffs, bearing in mind I dont have novice medic - its so much more fun, the fact that you actually have to limit your specials instead of spamming them constantly and you have to think before you run into a mob, and sometimes actually run away is my idea of how things should be - a lot more fun than standing still, targeting and hitting one of my macro's.

One of the guilds in our city has a regular "unbuffed" hunt, where they go out to Dath or Dant and just start walking, taking on anything they meet - sure they die a lot quicker, but they have a lot of fun.

To coming changes to Buffs will be one of the best things thats happened for a while in this game - bring them on.

I agree with you completely! I used to be one of the never-hunt-without-buffs people (no offense to those who prefer to hunt that way--there's nothing wrong with that mode if you enjoy it), but I have so much more fun now that I play unbuffed. It really forces me to think and use more strategy with my specials and foods, and makes the threat of your own death (and the accompanying adrenaline surge) more real. Playing in god mode can only hold my interest for so long.
