Pikets, Hurrtons, and Quenkers on Dantooine. Fairly good pistol xp, but very nice scouting xp

I finally got around to making a leveling trip to Talus and started killing Kimas last night.

The whole time I kept saying to my self "Why wasn't I doing this before?"

1009 Pistol Xp & 91-95 Combat Xp for those little slow dudes. And I thought getting 250 -300 for those darn horsies and giant grubbers on Corellia was a good deal... sheesh

Pikets, Hurrtons, and Quenkers, eh? I feel like I'm ona Dr. Seuss message board. Anyhoo, it might be helpful if you posted what xp you are receiving for your kills.

All I know is Corellia, so I am sure that there are other more lucrative planets, but here goes:

For risk-free XP on Corellia, crazed durnis (~256XP)and tabages(~388XP)are too slow to catch you, and they give decent but not spectacular xp. If this doesn't seem so good for you, consider that you can tag8 or 10 of themfrom a nest with healthshot1 & 2 and run circles around them using your normal attack. This way, while you kill you take no damage, and your HAM bars will hardly go down, or may even regenerate if you have the right pistol/armour combination. Also, I find that the nests can have 20 or more of these critters.

What does all this mean? It means that you can take out the 10 - 20 durnis or tabages for anywhere from ~2500 to 7700 XP, plus the nest XP, in about the time that it would require to take outa hambaba. When you are done, little or no HAM damage -- the only down time is the time required to find the next nest, which are quite common.

If you are allergic to cheese, or just require a little more challenge in your hunt, then by all means go after those hambabas (~1700XP). These require skill with timing your Warning Shot -- shoot too far away and that fella will be 120m away in a blink, too close and they will start chomping on you pretty good. I have to admit that these beasties are a LOT more satisfying to kill than those crazed bunnies, especially with the earth-shaking thud when they collapse. They are just not as safe as the durnis and tabages, and you will likely need to rest between kills.

Ah, that's my 2¢. If there is better hunting on Corellia, please let us know!

I was 2000k away from Dearic to the NW and they were all over the place along the river banks. ALL over.

But beware, there werealways meaner, faster, red spawns all around theKima spawns. You get real good at running in circles around their lair during combat so as not to get mauled by their neighbors.

I got wacked a couple of times by their neighbors due to carelessness....

In any event, Kima hunts are well worth the trip. As long as you don't let them close the distance they are XP goldmines IMO

Thanks for the tips. I have been doing the tuscan thing for the last few days...as long as your patient, you can get huge xp by sitting back and letting others do the pulling and...dieing. I was making 500-800 per raider and 700-1000 on the Banthas (60-177 FWG 2.1s [x] special)

on corellia i been killing sharnuff's solo. takes some time, and you have to have plenty of phen dart (snare) traps in your inv.

for sharnuff's i get 2500-3k pistol xp and 350 or so scouting xp on the harvest

for sharnuff bulls, i get 3500+ pistol xp and 453 scouting xp

takes about 3-5 minutes to kill them for me, but it's fun and well worth it i think. if you have 2 traps in a row that don't land though, you have about 1 second to burst run out of there if you're lucky

Get to endor. kite 11 Jax's. Takes about 10 min to kill all of them. 2565 pistol xp, 256 combat xp multiplies by 11 in 10 mins. Now that equals 28215 pistol xp and 2816 combat xp. So if yah can effectivly do that for an hour you get 169290 pistol xp, and 10896 combat xp every hour. Now sometimes your bleeds don't do as much damagae as you would like So I round it down to 100k pistol xp, and 8k combat xp per hour. Its a bonus if they are missions too hehe cause then yah get dah $$.

Feral Banthas or Scyks on Tatooine. I go out in a group consisting of myself and my partner...she backs me up by healing me if needed while I solo the critters. Feral Banthas = 1049 pistol exp per kill, scyks 649. Both are easy to take down with a decent gun and novice pistoleer.

As a side note I also am a Ranger so I have an even easier time against the critters. What I do is first thing I toss a Glow-Wire trap which drops their defense against ranged and melee attacks, then I aim, bodyshot or another equivilant, then go from there.

The other nice plus with feral banthas is that unless oyu are like 10 meters from em, they won't aggro and they won't swarm.

y'all don't hunt leviasqualls on rori? I get 1680 Pistol, 168 Combat. but I'm a master marksman going for BH. not sure if that XP decreases as you increase in level or buy better weapons, but so far its working for me, however they are REAL hard to find

@Allibobba - What region of Corellia? Spent tons of time there and for whatever reason I'm having trouble picturing what they look like and don't think I've ever seen one?

But, I've also never seen a Tabages either...

Da_Bamf, I forgot to mention that you've probably seen them and didn't realize it...

I bet you were looking for some large, formidable beast eh?

Nope, Kimas are about the size of a house cat and can be hard to even lock on to at times. If you see a lair (usually a dead log) and yellow dots on your radar but you don't really 'see' anything, chances are they are Kima.

I raked in 30k xp last night in about an hour.
