Every 2 weeks, we are going to have the opportunity to ask Thunderheart a question. He will do his best to answer it.


For now, the answer to just about every question we already have is "This will be addressed in the Combat Balance." That's about all Thunderheart can tell us at this point, and no amount of rewording or twisting his arm is going to change that I'm afraid.


The purpose of this thread is for you to post questions you would like to see answered, but are more likely to get a response other than "Combat Balance." This won't be easy, since we are strictly a combat profession. Nevertheless, this is is a great opportunity to get some information.


Try to expand the areas you want to cover. Everything is free game, from "What wacko made our DX2 model by chopping off the barrel of the DXR6 Carbine and calling it a Pistol?" to "How did we end up with aCarbineerarea knockdown by mistake (at launch), anyway?"


Get curious. The questons we ask have nothing to do with what gets fixed first. What do you want to know?

"What role do you see Pistoleers taking in combat after the combat balance is complete?"


This is somewhat taken to someone else's post on this forum (Iforgotmyname?) but it summarizes a lot... What are they going to do to set us apart from Carbineers, Rifleman, and others?

I thought there was already a thread like this. Can this be set up on a poll? Just a suggestion.


my question would be along the lines of :


As an elite combat profession what plans are in place to make us competitive with and as viable (in high end combat) as other combat professions?

Ok, I'm gonna cheat and post two questions, in order of preference.


1) The community is frustrated with being a "sideshow" in groups (low DPS, very limited tanking ability) and having sub-par performance in solo play. They would like some insight into what their role is expected to be in the coming days when they will be considered a contender.


2) "What wacko made our DX2 model by chopping off the barrel of the DXR6 Carbine and calling it a Pistol?"

I like WesBelden 's number 1

Seeing as I doubt the combat revamp covers it, maybe it would be a good time to check on the progress/status of dual wield?

Ok here's a question: Are you considering our petition to have the DE-10 become any of the following:


1) Dual Wield


2) Cold Damage Type


3) Armor Piercing 2 (Medium)


4) Master Pistoleer Box 'only' (thus making the requirements fit the value)

Heres a few I had in mind...


1. will our specials be fixed? as in, will disarming shot actually disarm an opponent instead of damaging it? will stopping shot be given a posture down effect, to more fit in line with its name and intention. will the random HAM shots we have now be more centralized to target health?


2. Accuracy while moving is a vital part of the pistoleer staying alive. is there any plan to work on accuracy while moving, and accuracy as a whole?


3. Will the DE-10 be only craftable with a rare looted item? having it need a looted item will make the gun not only rare, but incredibly expensive considering current economies. The best weapons for all other combat professions are mass produced; T-21, elite carbine, scatter and so on. the DX2 is only marginally better than whats avaliable in the marksman line.


4. I know dual weild has been talked about MANY times. any info you can give would be great. Such as, if it is implemented, would we just run through our HAM twice as fast because we would be using two pistols?


5. with virtually ever other profession far outweighing our DPS, doctors buffs marginalize our profession. we simply cannot put out enough damage to any single target fast enough to put them down. 1 on 1 a riflemen will destroy a pistoleer. if the pistoleer is moving, that should not be the case. have you seen the size of the T-21?


6. the speed calculations in the game destroy our profession. Pistols were supposed to be lower damage, high speed weapons. which they are. but rifles are high damage, high speed, and carbines are high speed medium damage weapons. is thats how it is supposed to be?



thats all i have for now. If i think of any more I will add them.

There are a number of specials within the pistoleer tree that are extremely easy to fix such as giving PMD2 a knockdown, making Body Shot 3 do more damage then Body Shot 2 etc.


Why are we being told that we have to wait for the combat balance and being completely neglected in the meantime?

I think you are doing a great Job Randomb. I am also glad that there is this new Q & A system setup, the GCW Rep is going to ask a great question this week regarding GroupTef, and when it will be changed.

However, it's pretty sad that you feel totally confident that they will respond to any question we ask of merit with "combat balance". Why even have this forum then? That would be my question.

If you feel they will answer a real question, I would ask how pistoleers are going to "be" in 2+ months (is that even the guessed time of its implimentation?) when the combat balance goes into place, that is, what ideas are they throwing around right now? They have made it clear that they aren't going to fix our specials, leaving us with only 2 valid moves until the rebalance - so what will be some of the proposed new moves? Will there be new weapons/damage types, meaning for damage types other than stun/not stun, etc.

Is there any chance that we will get to have dual pistol or some "flare" shots like twirling the gun and what not? (Something like I have seen on Equilibrium or hmmm...Star Wars)

Are they planning on answering all of our questions? Or just the top 10 that we choose?


Beside that, I have a question:


When exactly do you plan on doing the combat balance, and do you actually believe that you will be able to fix every proffession?


I am asking this question because Im getting tired of waiting on this "balance" to be fixed. If its not for a while yet (publish 10+) Im just gonna drop Pistoleer, and try out some of the more popular proffessions out there.
