Thread: New theroy on the Republic Blaster cert?
Well, this may seem far fetched, but I think this might have something to do with it. I haven't tested it yet, because where I am right now, I can't find anyone other than me.
The guns description is "The venerable Naboo Securtiy Forces side-arm."
Possibly, you have to have a POSITIVE Naboo Security Forces faction rating to use it? I know I'm an Expert BH, and a 1/1/3/3 Pistoleer, and I don't qualify. Maybe it is because I have -1418 Naboo Security Forces faction? Sorry I haven't tested this yet. Once I do, I'll check back.
i've had negative 5000 naboo for ages now and the republic blaster works fine for me.
since we are on this topic , i tried killing hutt expediatiry forces on yavin to improve naboo faction but instead it improved my nym faction. anyone know how i can improve my naboo faction?

NOTE: This didn't work. Sorry guys. Still don't have the cert on the weapon. In my cert list I do though.
probably your gun is prepatch. People with the cert can use the new crafted guns.
Zabrak, Imperial, and the cert is NOT listed in my cert box - but I can use it and do full damage. The one I've got is nice, but slow. ![]()
Makes a nifty sound though. ![]()
I'm pretty sure I've got all info posted and heres what I think I know..hehehe
The pistol you are attempting to use was given to you from a quest or looted. These were not fixed in the patch. You have to have a crafted blaster, even prepatch. But the one recieved from the NPC is no good. It ssems to be more of a momento than a weapon. Kinda like the flightsuits and Han's pistol he gives you. They are worthless except for sentimental reasons.
Basically, you need to buy a Republic Blaster from a weaponsmith!

My new Wookie(Brawler even!) does.
I am recieving conflicting certifications...
In my skill tree I am certified
But when I examine the weapon it says I'm not.
Any thoughts?

This seems to be happening to everyone. If you use a post-patch Blaster, though, it should work.
I've asked the Devs to explain all of this -- no response so far.
