Thread: OMG...Dizzy is my downfall

As pistoleers I'm sure you all have encountered the Dizzy/KD combo. Generally, once this happens, you're done...at least I am.


I am a Doc/Pistoleer so I can heal the dizzy state but when I am on the ground I can't do anything. I am a pro "kiter" so usaully stay out of KD/Dizzy range but once i get within the TKMs unrealistic dizzy or KD range, I'm done.


So tell me, what do you use for KD or Dizzy defense? I know there are some foods out there but I am generally hopped up on brandy and canape . . . what is your experience. ..

Make a macro that spams stand and /healstate it should get back up on your feet in no time, or at least long enough to let you heal

If you are a doctor and can heal the dizzy state then make a macro with the following 2 lines:


/stand;

/healstate dizzy;


Put the macro on your toolbar and when you get knocked down and dizzied then start clicking (or pressing the F key of) the macro. It will make you stand for a split second and heal the state, then fall over again. If you keep pressing it though, you will stand up the second time. Since you won't be dizzy anymore then the /healstate won't do anything.

One thing people dont realize is that you can actually get up rather quickly. I find switching pistols almost ALWAYS allows me to stand right back up with no trouble whatsoever. Also having some melee either fencor or pistoleer can almost entirely nulify dizzy/kd effects. and if you do get kd you have a HIGH chance of standing right back up without getting hit. Works pretty effectively.

I suggest picking up the fencer line 0400 or even 4400 if you can. an extra 54 to ranged and melee defense and an extra 50 to defense vs kd AND defense vs posture change

Use kip up shot. That makes you stand.

I have the /stand; /healstate macro on my tool bar. This doesnt work cuz if you are dizzy, posture changes make you fall back down. Plus is the guy is spamming dizzy then it doenst work very well. I like the idea of kip up shot. . .i'll have to try that. . .

I've seen that a lot when I just hit the up arrow to stand. However actually typing in /stand seems to cut down on continuously falling down.

STOP SPAMMING /STAND!


Dizzy only has achance to make you fall down when you change posture. Sometimes you can get up, but if you hit /stand again, chance will put you back on your arse again. Just tap stand, wait to see if you fall, then try again. Don't spam it. Swordsmen can Dizzy and PD you with Hit3, or Area3, but there is less of a chance it will dizzy you. Same tactics apply.


So actuallly, the guy that types /stand instead of spamming his fkeys actually is closer to the truth. As for Kip-Up Shot? I haven't tried that, but I imagine that if you spam it, you'll fall down just the same. Just take it steady.



Isn't it nice to have aMaster Brawler looking out for you?

SWG was never the game I wanted it to be, even before the NGE. All the NGE did is take away what gameplay SWG actually did have.

Yes It is nice to have a brawler respond! I used to type /stand to see if it would work and then do a quikc /healstate but then I got macro-crazy and turned it into a hotkey. . .and come to think about it, I have had less luck using the macro.


Thanks for the advice. . .oh I was browsing the swgcraft.com to look into Ithorian Mist which provides defense vs. dizzy. I think I'll give that a shot. .

BE-enhanced thakitillo can give you +100 resist vs. KD. Then you only have to watch out for the "lunge" specials that cause posture down.

I know Dilune, myself, and some Pistoleers had been asking for something like that to be applied to Kip Up Shot, but beyond that I haven't heard anything about it.






I was told that when doing kip up, you don't have to go through the roll modifiers. /shrug

I'm a Triple Master and I rarely have problems getting back up with Dizzy, even though the NS Rancors are a bit nasty with it. They get me every now and then.

your best bet is to just not get dizzied in the first place. if you go up into fencer, you can really buff up your state defenses. master pistoleer/fencer 0/4/4/0 has these defenses...


Defense Vs. Dizzy +80


Defense Vs. Knockdown +100


Defense Vs. Posture Change +70


Defense Vs. Blind +80

Dodge +195 (though nothing over +125 matters)

Melee Defense +67


Also, your center of being macro could run for about 25 seconds at a time. so, some good thatkillo,a CoB macro running, and you will be a very hard pistoleer to hit. It will also make your chances much better that you wont get struck with a Dizzy/KD move.
