Thread: What's your default attack?
I mostly use Ranged Shot. If it has any Action costs, I haven't noticed them. If I'm CCing in my group, I'll put Improved Disarming Shot as my default attack. In groups I usually just use whatever the group wants me to do as my default (warning shot, disarming shot, intimidate shot, etc.), but the rest of the time I just use Ranged Shot.

I dont use one. I find it gets in the way of my combos.
totally agree. I find it's easier and more efficientto choose each and every shot (or combo of shots if you write combo macros.)
macro's a dirty word in my vocabulary ![]()
but eh im nottotally adverse to not using any default attack just sometimes when it gets scary and I need to down some food or spice its nice to know I'll keep shooting /shrug
thanks for the info ![]()

Macros are for winners.
You mean for teh lay-zs, don't you Badga?
Everything I do in SWG is a macro, the link in my sig explains all.
I find F keys and toolbar icons too fiddly and need all my specials under one hand...
Macros just make life in SWG easier, like the one I have bound to 0that calls my bike then /jump on it.
I have /bo trans bound to B... all pistoleer specials bound to NUM 1-9, targetting cycle in and out on NUM * and NUM -, CM enhancers bound to the Home keys and Doc enhancers and cures on QWE, ASD, ZXC.
Pretty much every key does something, and my main toolbar is full of chef and smuggler buffs.
It's the one thing that keeps me in SWG, the fact that I can customise the interface exactly how I want it, something that during my three years of Ultima Online required third party apps, some approved and some illegal.
It is a bit of a nightmare if I lag when pressing Enter to start chat then start typing as all manner of stuff starts kicking off. ![]()
I also use the modeless style of play. Since WoW I can't get over it, so I understand what you mean by Macroes. It's the string of command macroes that let you fight an entire battle with one button that I have a problem with. Putting Stopping Shot, Intimidate Shot, and Warning Shot all into one string to start a fight is pushing it as a "debuff" macro, but acceptable in my opinion. It's when you have 30 lines of special spam that is the easiest and safest way for you to farm mobs while you're out for lunch... That's when I've got a beef.
I dont go for strings of combat commands in macros... it's easier to do it "manually" as then you can react faster to a change in situation.
Pre CU I must admit to leaving a macrorunning on Endor that did a bit of "/tar a" and some "/ui action cycleTargetInward" and a load of Fanshots when I was banking FXP though, but, you'll be happy to know that I came back to the PC dead as often as I did capped on Pistol XP. ![]()
I use a lot of:
/ui action toolbarPane0x
/ui action toolbarSlot0x
/ui action toolbarPane00
So you can put things like bikes and stims in other toolbar panes and it switches to them, uses it and then switches back to all your weapons and buffs and it is all instantaneous and transparent apart from the satisfying "Ding" you get, you also get a scary "Thunk" that tells you if you just ran out of the enhancer you just tried to use.
As a left hander, yeah... go for the QWE, ASD, ZXC for pistoleer specials... I'd also advise binding the key next to 1 to cycle target out so that you dont have to tab like crazy to reaquire a target that you've just skippped past with tab.
I asked to a guildy that said he just used tab to select mobs what he did if he skipped past the mob he wanted to attack and he said "I hit tab really fast till I get it again".
My answer was "So, theoretically you could die having only ever pressed Tab?" ![]()
