...wanting to drop rifleman and going to pistoleer...I'm a master rifleman/doc right now...and am just bored with rifleman and its pwn'age....and (imho) i think that rifleman is really going to get the axe in the combat revamp...so anyway...just lemme know...i figure i can make the switch in about a day or so to get to Mpistols....

let me tell you one thing my friend, i've mastered pistolere twice. . .11/13 pistoleer specials are broken or redundant, now pick up your rifle, and suck it up
check the pisotleer boards, then state of the pistoler specials float at the top, im not lying
pistols is only good when coupled w/ smug or bh, or both

No you are not a jackass, I think you are selling the devs short about the combat revamp but if you feel that pistoleer will be more fun then do it! After all this is a game - you should not do what bores you unless it gets you somewhere you want to be. Games are meant to be fun so have fun!

unless rifles get nerfed. . .then. . .well. . .yeah. . .then im going back to pistols. ..wait. . i can't i already used my free unlock on spd. . looks like rifles for life =/

don't know .. i'm a jackass since I mastered pistoleer back in aygust 2003...
and yes, you can probably make the change in less than a day if you know someone with an old non certified speed sliced republic blaster,,, ap1 2xx dmg at marksman makes a huge diference

I seriously hope the CB brings life back into pistoleer. The best pistoleer attacks (last ditch, low blow, eyeshot, torso shot) aren't even in the pistoleer skill tree.

pistols are not as bad as folks say they are ... but it is ture you must have the bh or smugg line to kick it up a notch ... with a good ol beer made geno pistol and the retardly high dodge you get with some fencer you can whoop up on most riflemen ... but then the melee folks come in and kick your arss... i found that tkms and fencers were very beatable ... but for some reason the mhs always put a whoopin to me .. sett'bacca being the main culpret for many'a basher's early pvp test runs
figured id try out the rifle now for the ar2 ... workin damn fine from what i see ... except i take so many more hits than i did with my other profs .... i guess when you master you kill things before they get a chance to eat you or throw a power hamer against your skull

I use pistols as my backup. Although since they added the delay for switching weapons and since I still can hit stuff ok at point blank w/ my rifle at Master, I've found I haven't switched to a pistol at all. I've taken all my pistols out of my inventory and hung em ina pack on the wall in my house. I dropped Novice Pistoleer and am going for Ranger, as soon as I can get that extra +7 speed to drop Master Marksman.
I'm thinking of starting a pistol oriented toon on another server, but I can't seem to pull my attentionaway from the Rifleman/Ranger concept. Pistols are fun. I can't wait until they get all the professions working like they were intended. And if they let Pistoleer's dual wield pistols....I might have to seriously consider starting up a new toon. I've been gung ho rifles since I picked up the game and will probably keep this guy that way.
Whatever is fun for you, go for it. I thought I wanted to be a crafter until I got frustrated w/ all the resource shifting so I went combat oriented and I've enjoyed the game ever since...especially rifles

Been pistoleer since nov-2003 and never thought a second about changing it.
Get a very nice speedy gun and follow a guide and you'll have no problem making MP in maybe not one day but in two days.

Health Shot 2 works, Body Shot 3 works, Pistoleer Melee defense works, Fan Shot works. You are wrong, but you are right about the fact that too many of their specials are broken.
