yeah i've also been noticing that i'm "but you evade" only see "you dodge" once in a while, i was wondering about this too. anyone else noticed this and want to run some tests?

every time my dodge animation plays, it says in the combat log that I evade. I'm prettysure the text has been changed.

I've noticed far less dodging...I think, by "fixing" the dodge animation while running so it no longer hinders movement, they made it less visible - not necessarily a bad thing, just a little annoying.
Also, I've seen friends (using normal pistols at the Pistols IV level) dodging more often than I have against some mobs...this, keep in mind, is WITHOUT any dodge modifyers whatsoever. Talk about glitchy...

i thought evading meant they just didn't hit you, a factor from their accuracy and your ranged/melee defense
dodging should say that you "dodged"

I always thought that "dodge" and "evade" meant basically the same thing. If they miss you then it should say they "missed" you.

hrm.... you're right........ but if evade is dodge, then why do both appear in the combat queu
maybe evade is for ranged attacks and miss is for melee?
this whole thing just leaves too many variables to consider, but i know for certain it still says "you dodge out of the way" when you dodge, and it alsosays (and has said) "but you evade"
hrm... maybe we could get a dev response to this and let us know if you dodge was broken or if evade and miss are essentially the same thing, just based on different calculations /rubs chin

Since yesterday's patch I've not been seeing any "...but you dodge out of the way" on the combat log, only evade so it appears as if they have broken dodge unless they renamed dodge on the combat log to the same as evade (but that would be dumb). Has anyone else noticed this? and is it the same for fencer?

I think they've just changed the phrase to "evade". I didn't notice any less actual dodging when I was on dant this morning.

You get "evade" even at novice marksman using a pistol, there used to be dodge and evade but since the patch no dodge at all for me and I have noticed less dodging especially in pvp.

Hmm NPCs still get "but he dodges out of the way" on the log when they dodge.
I'm pretty sure dodge for players is bugged (or nerfed) :/

I've noticed a HUGE decrease in sucessful dodges compared to before as well. Something to check on?

Unless you are getting beat up more, it's probably just a change in the text. I'll ask just to be certain...
You first noticed this with Publish 8.1?

i noticed i was dodgine less and evading more several weeks ago..... a week ago i was dodging a lot more.... this week i've been dodging the same...... it seems to me like it's completely random /shrug
