Thread: Over Priced Republic?

I'm not a rich player, I've been in this game since launch and the most I've ever had is 400k. I saw someone spamming in the Cnet cantina that they had a 500 max damage Republic blasters for sale, so sent him a tellinquiring how much he was selling them for.He replied with 1.8 million.. this took me aback somewhat.
Are such pistols as pricey on other servers? am I naive in thinking that the difference between a 205 max DL-44and a 500 max Republic Blaster should be considerabley less than1,799,985 credits?

Overpriced? you can say that about most items nowadays. I would not pay more than 30k for any weapon. Geo blaster with nice damage might be worth about 60k and those are best pistols in game. I have played this game a long time and there is no way to convince me that a pistol doin 500 dam (energy)is worth 1.8mill. What good is that gun vs comp armor that has about 66-90def vs energy. Would you pay for a T21 rifle that does that type of damage, i would say no.

the player economy is way out of whack... there are people who have been ripping off other people since day 1 and now have hundreds of millions of credits so they raise the price on items like that because they can spend it. Thats great and all.. hooray for capitalism... but in a game where we all would like to try out these things that devs spend so much time putting into the game... I am less than thrilled. I personally would have voted for a non-player controlled economy because of crap like this going on, nothing can be done about it however. Best I have been able to suggest to people is not to worry about, don't pvp and don't bother with the new dungeons because they arent meant for average people, only those who make their credits of the foolish. I remember grouping with people in the search for holocrons.. you know the ninja looting sort, when they would find one (being at the front of the group and all) would be kind enough to offer the holocrons for the ever generous 1 million+. If I had the time (which I don't) I would be more than happy to tank the current player economy... at least as it is on my server. Good luck to those who fight the good fight. I personally just buy as little as possible from Vendors... save my credits for maintenance.. the only fixed expense in the game.

You know you can pick up just about any combat proffession, master it, then go do janta/mokk missions for 30k a piece (buffed/armored/brandied)? I can do about 4 runs per hour as tkm, 2 missions each run, so that's about 240k/hour. On average I'd sayAS/Chefs make upwards of a million credits each day, if they arelucky and have very good wares, weaponsmiths less, 'cause they can't charge as much per item. Granted, most of their time is spent churning things out of a factory, so they can do other things....like search for rare/great resources or pay for and run a city.
I'd gladly snap up that republic blasterfor that price, it gets exponentailly harder to make a weapon with an extra damage point. In fact, that particular weapon would have prolly sold for 3mil+ on the Shadowfire trade forums.
You never know when you'll need an energy weapon in PvP, and considering a geo is AP0, and you MIGHT get one with a similar DPS for 3mil, that republic you scoffed at was an amazing deal.
Face it, there is much more money flowing in from missions than will ever be taken out by the money sinks in this game, inflation will happen whether you like it or not.

its probably worth that much on Valcyn.

yeah it's a little pricy but you know the guy actualy was able to survive in the geonosian caves to get the schematic then bully for him... he has the right to sell it at any price. the sad part is that while we as casual player may never see more then 1 million credits at one time there are those powergamers that have in the billions of credits and the price means nothing to them.

Ariek a Geonosian Sonic Blaster comes from the Geonosian Caves....the Republic Blaster obviously, does not. And yes 1.8million is overpriced for anything that doesn't last until the end of time.

kik ass blaster. no one has mentioned this yet, but it is probably a prenerf gun. I mean that type dm is heavenly. ive seen a 366 dm blaster which is no easy feat but can be made. take a 200dm blaster, wit 20-35% dm slice which makes it around 260-300dm which u can get easily at a good shop for about 60k (this is on bloodfin).And then add krayt tissue...wait well krayt stuff wuld be added earlierbut it all adds up.How do u get that extra dm like 150 after a 30% slice and full kryat??? id say impossible, unless prenerf. Anyways taht gun is defintely worth the price. Regarding the topic of 'casual gaming and little credits' i dont see that as true. i'm a casual gamer, i play 2-3hours MAX on weekdays and more on weekends and am satisfied. U can easily make a mil in only a few hours if you hunt for meat or hide that goes for high cpu. for example on bloodfin teh current dantooine wooly hide, befa, is extraordinary and goes for 40-60cpu. You get 20k after doin huurton stalker mission for a few hours and then, combined with the 200k or so u get from the 10k paying missions, u get one mil from the hide and there ya go...1.2mil. go buy urself sum tusken **edit** u always wanted to wear, taht pistol uve always wanted and even start a craft prof u culd never have upkept. but beyond a few mil I may.....will....might.....never see the light...of...of...'IVE GOT 200MIL NOOB HOES. GO SUK IT, U GET SACKED BY NUNAS HAHAAHAHA'...................

3 mil on valcyn... thats what mine cost and its 1.7 spd 370 dam with pu.
