Thread: Over Priced Republic?

You know you can pick up just about any combat proffession, master it, then go do janta/mokk missions for 30k a piece (buffed/armored/brandied)? I can do about 4 runs per hour as tkm, 2 missions each run, so that's about 240k/hour. On average I'd sayAS/Chefs make upwards of a million credits each day, if they arelucky and have very good wares, weaponsmiths less, 'cause they can't charge as much per item. Granted, most of their time is spent churning things out of a factory, so they can do other things....like search for rare/great resources or pay for and run a city.
I'd gladly snap up that republic blasterfor that price, it gets exponentailly harder to make a weapon with an extra damage point. In fact, that particular weapon would have prolly sold for 3mil+ on the Shadowfire trade forums.
You never know when you'll need an energy weapon in PvP, and considering a geo is AP0, and you MIGHT get one with a similar DPS for 3mil, that republic you scoffed at was an amazing deal.
Face it, there is much more money flowing in from missions than will ever be taken out by the money sinks in this game, inflation will happen whether you like it or not.

Just to point out, based on Holocron's report (a dev, who published afriday feature about 2 weeks ago), on an average day about 1 billion credits are entering the economy, and 1.5 billion credits are leaving. The system is actually losing money as time goes by. According to Holocron, this is as designed by the devs, and will be rebalanced as the duped credits leave the system.

Try 5 million on Chilastra.
3 mil on valcyn... thats what mine cost and its 1.7 spd 370 dam with pu.
That may be what they charge for it, but no gun is ever worth that much. Have seen a craftet one with 3.3 and about 370 dam here on farstar too for 1.7 mio, but even though I could afford it now, thanks to trainging tkm with janta missions have 4.5 mio atm, I would never pay that much for a gun!
On some servers, the economy is a bit worse than others but I remember people paying well over 1.5 million on my server for Krayt tissue FWG5s. That 500 damage Republic Blaster will smoke a DE in all ways and I would imagine that people will be paying top dollar for those. 500 max damage in an AP1 pistol is not too shabby -- even if it is energy. That is definitely a Nightsister killer.
Simply because I want the vibro motor drop for a pair of heat damage VKs would push me towards buying that gun. But you really have to ask yourself...do you have need of a high damage energy pistol? It would be best for PvE and not PvP in my opinion and it would be difficult to justify 1.7 mill for a PvE weapon.

Its all about worth to you. Is it worth that much to you Yes or No. Some will say yes it is others will say no way.
But about your 205 dl 44 compared to 500 rep. your getting a 795 points of damage difference. I get this because the dl44 has no ap the rep has an ap of 1 so if your attacking a MOB with an AC0 and no resists you shot your max damage 500 pistol your damage is 2x becasue of the AP1 so your doing 1000 damage a difference of 795 points of damage compared to your 205 dl44. The same as if it was a AC1 you would do 102 damage or 500 damage with the rep. AC2 yours 68 damage rep 250 damage AC3 yours 51 damage the rep 125.

Overpriced? you can say that about most items nowadays. I would not pay more than 30k for any weapon. Geo blaster with nice damage might be worth about 60k and those are best pistols in game. I have played this game a long time and there is no way to convince me that a pistol doin 500 dam (energy)is worth 1.8mill. What good is that gun vs comp armor that has about 66-90def vs energy. Would you pay for a T21 rifle that does that type of damage, i would say no.
Geo pistol worth 60k? Right. When I see the schematics selling for 1 million easy on the trade forums, and you could only make a couple per schematic, what do you think they are going to charge?
Its not the Crafters that are gouging, its the people that sell the crafters the supplies that are responsible. But if I crafter offers me 5 million for some Krayt Tissues, I'm not gonna turn it down.

Actually, all quest type schematics allow only 3 or so items to be crafted. The workaround is learing the schematic, then setting up a factory run for as many as possible (1000 is max, not likely with resources needed for runs). The crafter gets 3 runs or so from each schematic. Easily they can make many and make tons of credits with repeated runs. I pity them not.
This cannot be done with the Geo Pistol Schematic.
You could do that as long as the schematic doesn't require loot drops. Geonsosian Pistol requires cubes though. Again, getting enough cubes costs even more credits.
