Thread: I don't understand why you guys keep saying the DE-10 sucks

Quite honestly, it is the best PvE pistol we have. It has very high min damage (highest of any pistol we have) and very high max damage (higher than any krayt republic blaster when unkrayted) It also has light armor peircing
I made 2 of these with +76 tissues, one was 142-355, second was 138-379, and the third was 138-345. Sadly I got them all speed sliced. But lets think for a second, that damage is practically like a t21 if you use good tissues. With a damage slice the 379 one could have hit up to 511 max damage!!!!
Even with my speed sliced, unpowered up DE-10 138-379 I can KD a target and use last ditch for up to 5200 points of damage. Imagine me getting a damage slice and equiping it with a 33% max damage power-up, now that is like 8k dmg+
The only bad side to this pistol is of course the speed. But I think you guys need to stop whining and pick up some pistol speed tapes or get desparado in BH.

I am getting sick of people saying that pistoleer sucks, they have no idea what they are talking about.

When people say it sucks they are generally talking about the gun in context of just the pistoleer profession. My alt is a Pistoleer/Doc. I won't be able to stack any other pistol lines with masterr pistoleer. No last ditch for me or eyeshot. The DE might not be that good for me....
I'm hoping that I'll be wrong....

It is a nice looking gun, attractive stats- but comes out to limited use in PVE and most definately PVP (unless you both have no armor) with the lack of AP0 like the Corvette's Berserker Rifle. I would whip out the Republic Blaster with AP1 if I were to go with energy damage, but I mainly use a DX2.

The problem with the gun is that:
1.) It's a one-use schematic. Meaning that the Weaponsmith reap no benefits from actually making it, its a waste of their time, and its a hassle.
2.) Pistoleers are useless in the DWB.
3.) They already have one rare gun, the Geo Pistol schem. Pistoleer's two most useful guns are in places that Pistoleers are at a disadvantage.
Mostly, I just have a problem with the one-use schematic though.

Ok Nikolai, i'm going to resist all out flamming you for being a noob. Just to let you know you can use that one schematic in a factory that will make more than one gun, so its not really that bad...

The biggest issue with the gun is that its slow. We arent concerned on these forums about abilities from other classes as this is the pistoleer forum, no offense. The one use schematic is kind of rough... I was unaware that more than one gun can be made from the same schematic... additionally the issue is not the schematic, its the barrel, they are ten times harder to find than the schematic. It is funny though that the DWB is where we find our master weapon but we are nigh useless there. And it is SORT of like a t21 except for the Heavy AP(3) which affects damage no matter how you look at it. Vs that Krayt you are talking about, you are only doing 75% of what a T21 would be doing at a potentially slower speed if oyu are talking about a master pistoleer vs master rifleman. No I dont thinks its a bad pistol at all, and TH is promising all to be fixed in the CB, but as is, it is OK, a good DX2 will outdamage the DE-10 with acid instead of energy just on the difference in speed.

Last time i checked no u cant. As one u ahve to use a looted barrle to make it. Also if u want to use kryat loot u cant. So it ends up to be an one time ownlly sch.

Did you manage to loot several identical barrels for a factory run? Or is that not needed?

Sorry, but completely untrue. The damage on a Krayt Republic Blaster (also AP1) will be far greater than that of an "un-Krayted" DE-10. If both guns are made with Krayt tissue then the damage will be very similar. Basically, the DE-10 is an extremely rare, outrageously expensive, and disgustingly slow version of the Republic Blaster. You ripped yourself if you wasted 2 sets of nice tissues on these guns (unless you're planning on selling them for an ungodly profit to buy nice weapons hehe). The only way the DE-10 is better than the Republic is the looks. I'd take the RB or the DX2 any day.
We're not complaining so much that the pistol sucks. We're saying that it sucks that instead of listening to the actual players the Devs went the lazy route and just gave us a Republic Blaster clone with crappy speed, when what we need is a good AP1 stun damage pistol.
