A few days ago the devs decided to coddle the jedi and released a new accuracy formula onto test center to be released in the upcoming publish (due next week). A lot of other professions are reporting a severe decrease in their ability to hit their targets. This particularly concerns us, because many of those professions have a lot more accuracy mods than pistoleers. Can anyone one TC make any observations about how these changes wil affect us specifially?
Thanks!

I have a master pistoleer on test center that has Jedi accuracy mods, guess that doesn't help much, lol

Yes, the tests are underway. I want to get a good sample size and post the results. My initial impressions are that we are slightly less accurate..
The idea is basically that the current to-hit system isn't working as well as it could be. There should never be so close to a 100% chance to hit or miss. Thecurrent result of the changesis that a lot of people are noticing decreased accuracy.. some more so than others. It is now also possible to miss lairs, though nobody I have heard from thinks that is a good idea. You can find the In Development thread through the link below:

Well we all know that the combat rebalance is just another name for a server wide nerf. The nerfs we are seeing now are just the tip of the Ice Berg and we are all stuck on the Titanic. The Dev's have their own agenda and don't listen to the players and don't listen to the Correspondents UNLESS they agree with the Dev's otherwise they ignore us all.
When the Dev's are done we can count our blessings if we can solo a Gubber.

As a whole I don't have a huge problem with this. And my suspisions of it are correct. It was part of the CB anyway, they are just pushing out early because the "Combat Balanced Jedi" are going in LIve already. And they would be way out of wack with out the added "accuracy modifiers".
All it comes down to is what I have been saying about the CB. Get used to not being able to kill as high level things as you can now. The whole combat line is being lowered a few notches.
Start getting used to using tactics, not power, folks. I see this specific change as making PvP more level playing field, and PvE will be lower power for us. Which is fine. It will be a bit refreshing, IMHO.

The first round of tests weren't very encouraging. In tests using a Republic Blaster against gungans, I got 96% accuracy on Live and 55% accuracy on TC Bria (even with +12 Ranged Weapon Accuracy from Force Sensitivity). Since it was a Republic Blaster, range was pretty much meaningless. I was using special attacks almost exclusively (HS2, Fan Shot, PMD1), which are more accurate than the default attack.
I've passed on these numbers (sample size was about 160 shots each, I don't have my notes with me here at work), and don't expect them to go in unchanged. Just to be certain, I plan to make a thread about it in Correspondent Discussion. This is what TC is for.
I'd like to do a PvP test as well, and perhaps another PvE test with a different weapon.

That is discouraging to hear. I hope this gets changed drastically, or simply isnt put on live yet. Such a momunental change to combat needs more than a week of testing anyway. I dont mind missing every once in awhile, particularly when Im not in my ideal range or moving, but to miss 45% of the time against a low level mob is just flat out ridiculous. One thing that concerns me about this whole situation isThunderheart said today that they were at the cutoff point for adjusting to code that is going to be pushed live (in the BH thread). I think we all definitely should be concerned right now.

*sigh* I know he said that to BH's. I'm proceeding as if he didn't. It would be irresponsible to not even try. Just know that we tested and provided feedback as soon as we could, but for whatever reason, the "cutoff point" came almost immediately after the changes were put online for us to test.
I'm not even exaggerating: it went up on the 23rd, TH had feedback and testing data from me on the 24th, and today is the 25th. Judging from TH's post it looks like they barely got the changes in, and left zero time in the schedule for adjustments.

Well of course you should try, Im just concerned that they are going to shove this down our throats without giving people a realistic oppurtunity to test it. Given the circumstances, you are doing an excellent job (as always) Randonb! Keep up the good fight!

Bah I screwed up the calculations. It was missing 34%, not 45%. I don't have an excuse, other than that I've been dragged down lately. I'm sure the developers noticed my mistake and just didn't tell me to be polite, but I let them know just the same.
I still consider a 34% miss rate to be unacceptable, but it isn't quite as dire as previously stated.

34 % is slightly better, but still HIGH for a master in a ranged profession.

Just for the record, whats the total ( with tapes and AA's) pistol +ranged accuracy you have?
Thanks
