Well I am a smuggler/pistoleer. I use a 245 max dmg 2.3speedrepuby blaster. I need a hell of a lot of exp beacuse I want to do dirty fighting and pistoller tree. Right now I group in Dantoiine getting about 800exp on avarage per creature. As you can tell thats not alot. My damage is like 200-500 max so I can't take down anyhting by myself. How the hell do you do good damage with pistoller when you start off not even being able to solo a pickit??? I have novice pistoller and got 175k exp but decided to use it on feign death because I think disarming attack is a waste for the time it took to get 175k. Can anyone guide me on what tress to take on, what equipment to buy, and how I can make good exp? I'm really disipointed because my pistoles dont do crap damage compared to everyone elses attacks.

Here's how I do it for around 150K-200K XP an hour. First, you need a little bit of preparation. Make sure you have at least 200K in the bank, you're gonna need it. Now, find yourself a vendor that sells high quaility Ubese armor, I'm talking 70%+ kinetic resistance. Get yourself a full suit, and head to the most populous area on your server, for me on Chilastra it's Coronet. Once there go to the Cantina and find a musician to buff your focus and willpower, be sure to tip him appropriately for the service. Once you've gotten that done, use the Player Seach (CTRL-P) to find a Master Doctor. Pay him to buff all you stats. Now get to the starport and hop a shuttle to either Dathomir or Yavin, I use Yavin when I just want XP and Dathomir when I'm strapped for cash cuz rancor meat sells well on my server. Once you get to your destination, just go out into the wilds solo and kill everything. Be wary of large packs, even with that armor and full buffs you won't survive long if 8 mobs are ganking you.

When I'm fully buffed I can take out rancors, klickniks, and any other mobs I see on those planets with no trouble by myself. One thing to be quite wary of though are Nightsisters on Dathomir with tamed rancors. Those rancors hit harder than their wild cousins, and the Nightsister will blast you with Force Lightning and Force Choke. I had thought I could take them, but I fell in less than 90 seconds to this combo.

Play smart with this method and you'll master Pistoleer in no time at all. I managed to get from Novice to 2/0/1/1 in less than 3 hours using this XP earning method. Also, if you need cash, feel free to take on missions from the terminals, you can make around 14K for klicknik lair missions on Yavin, and 6-8K for every other mission on the terminal. I haven't really checked the terminals on Dathomir, I usually just leave town and search out rancors.

Now for some XP stats you can earn from mobs:

Klikniks: 2800-3900 depending on the type, Queens yield the most

Rancors: 3000-4800 also varies by type, seems bulls and ancients are the highest yields

All other mobs on both planets yield in the range of 2000-4000 XP per kill if you solo them, so making XP should be no problem at all. Just make sure you have a vehicle ready, when your buffs wear off you're gonna fall really fast if you don't get back to town ASAP.

I hope this helps you, it's really worked for me and I think if you try it it'll work for you as well.

Oh, I almost forgot one thing: Invest in a good DX2 pistol and have it sliced, most of these mobs have high resists to most damage types, but for some reason lack any resistances to acid. This is especially key if you want to targer rancors, as they have 100% to most resistances, but absolutely no protection from acide damage.

Ok heres what I do. I was a 0010 pistoleer and 1111 ch. I got a BE bearded jax cl 23 with 60 kinetic resist and like 6k HAM (i can only use it till its full grown tho :smileysad. At the time I was using it it only had like 1k-2k HAM. Ok anyway, I ship off to Endor, grab 2 crazed gurreck missions and go do those. They dont help each other and with a meat shield they are relatively easy to kill. You get, as I recall, 3kish pistol XP from them and 245 ch XP(with my jax). Then around 4k from the lair, and the reward is 6kish credits normally. I have no armor, use a DX2 (AP Light, 2.5 speed, 108-166 dmg(without powerup)). I think it got me up to 0020 in pistoleer in a few hours, and 2111 in ch and quite a few credits as well. This probably isnt the best way, but the gurrecks have a good meat that I am going to try to barter with a BE for discounts hehe. Hope this helps!

dark could you tell me your methods of attack on agros/yellows/lairs? It would help alot then just running in there shotting everything up. Also what kind of pistole atatck abailities did u use?(I have novice pistoleer and dity fighting I)

the buffing/adventure planet thing is your best shot, it works for all combat professions pretty much.

I did pistoleer in two phases. Phase 1 was 0042 on rori over a couple days. Being fairly weak with no CH I just ran laps around Leviasquall and Midnight Vir-Vur lairs. They can't catch you and they give several k each. So each lair is around 30-40k xp with no risk.

A couple holos later I start leveling CH and figure I might as well finish out Pistoleer in the process. I simply go to Dantooine, get some bol lair missions, pull out my meat shields (or rent them, join a group with them), then beat on everything I see on the way to those missions. Only thing I wouldn't go after is large groups of horned voritors or force sensitive npc types.

I did all the rest of pistoleer in about 3-4 days this way. No buff'ing, just a couple CL10 pets to shield me and the dirty fighting tree of smuggler. WHICH I HIGHLY RECCOMEND TO GUNFIGHTERS.

first of all, no novice pistoleer is gonna do hella damage w/o a 5 mil gun. the fastet way to get pistol xp from my experience is get enough CH skills to use a pet with 5000-8000 HAM. then they take the damage and u can kill better creatures, and gettin all the xp. secondly, proffesions like commando r almost always gonna do more damage than u. the trade off with that is a good pistol will have a low attack speed, and do the damages faster. in the end it comes out closer to even. if u can, get a pistol with at least a 2.0 att spd, and at least 200 dmg. once u get up the dirty fighting column or the trickshot column, those shots will increase the amount of damage u do. i would suggest first getting the dirty fight along with pistol stances (combat xp) and pistol marksmanship or pistol grips. then u will have pistol mods along with ur higher damage dirty fighting skills
