Arrgghhh. I definitely think the lack of an EDIT option on these boards far outweighs any ingame bug we have......arrgh.

Anyway, I was writing my post apparently concurrently with SasstheBard, his formula is correct, and the exact same thing I was trying to show. However, I left off the % sign on my formula and was unable to edit it.

So my formual should actually read:

Actual Shot Speed = (Weapond Speed * Shot Modifier) * (100 - Speed Skill)%

Question on Combat Level / Mission levels:

It seems as though each step up the Techniques line I have increased a combat level. This possibly in conjuction with Special Abilities, but I'm not sure.

I think I went from missions level 12 to 13 once I got Techniques II. Of course there are difficult planets that give you a lot higher missions, but I am just talking standard mission on Corellia or Naboo for instance. I am about to train Techniques III *Stopping Shot _* today so I will find out.

Just curious what others have noticed. There doesn't seem to be anything in skills list that indicates "Combat Level" which would be nice.

Final note... excellent posts here and quite useful. As far as dmg I have gotten 905 dmg from Double Tap using my sliced DX2 with dmg mod. I can't wait to see what Stopping Shot will do. 8)_

Ah I was wondering.

I still think it would be nice to have an overall "Combat Level" rating using various combat skills.

Well I just tested out Stopping Shot (Pistol Techiniques III) which I just learned.

First shot on Diseased Nuna in Theed, Naboo... dmg was 1570 with my DX2 sliced with powerup... yes I am very happy

From my experience, it didn't seem to matter which tree you were in, just how many boxes you had filled. When I sold back Techniques (then Stances and Grips), I lowered my mission level considerably. By gaining back boxes in Accuracy and Speed, I've gained it back. Heck, you could probably rise up to BS3 tree and receive the same difficult missions.

Great Stuff here, thank you for the info and advice!!!

I have but one question, what are the best stats under stat migration for a Pistoleer type character. Namely a Bothan Pistoleer? I seem to either have one of 2 problems and can't get the right touch in numbers under stat migration. Either A) my mind just sucks and I always end up getting incapped cause of it or B) I put so much points into mind, will power, and focus to help out my mind in A that I don't end up having a decent amount of action and health to pull off all the neat and nasty tricks that we Pistoleers get to wield.

Any suggestions, thoughts, and advice is greatly appreciated!!!

Thank you!!!

Now, I've seen it mentioned here in a couple places that BodyShot 3 actually ends up doing less DPS than BodyShot 2. Is this still the case or has it been fixed?

Aerich,

Still the case, unless you havea fast weapon and high pistol speed.

You should check out the speed formula, and use your pistol speed and the delay on your pistol, to figure out if you should use BS3 or BS2. At mastery, with a pistol faster than 2.0 speed, body shot 3 suddenly becomes worthwhile.

Like me, for instance, when I got BS3, it was worthless. Until I neared mastery it always did a little less damage than BS2.

Great guide. The only suggestion I have is to possibly add the Pistoleer Trainers and planet/city/waypoint of where they are at.

>>>Actual Shot Speed = (Weapond Speed * Shot Modifier) * (100 - Speed Skill)%

not wanting to beat a dead horse or anything but i still disagree with the speed formula because it falls apart at +100spd bonus, it makes the weaponspeed completely irrelevant.

x<actual shot speed> = (30 <weapon speed> * 1.8 <shot modifer for BS2> * (100 - 100)%

x = (54)*(0%)

x=0

-----

x = (30 *1.8) * (100-90)%

x = (54) * (0.1)

x = 5.4

---

x = (30 *1.8) * (100 - 129<max attainable bonus>% = error

so far all this tells me is that your equation only works up to +99spd bonus at which point it fails.

on the other hand an equation more like this might make Some sense (not saying this is the actual equation)

i am going to use +10 speed modifer to = 0.1 seconds as that makes sense to me and has been stated elsewhere in this thread.

Weapon speed + shot delay - speed modifer = shot speed

30s + 1.8s - 1.0s<+100spd) = 30.8s

30s + 1.8s - 1.2s<129 = 30.6s

1.4s + 1.8s - 1.0s = 2.2s

1.4s +1.8s - 1.2s = 2.0s

i need to test this theory but on paper it works for all speeds of weapons and all levels of skill while the aformentioned formula does not.

feel free to make any comments. sorry if this is kind of disjointed, it's late and i'm tired..

You are forgetting the all important stipulation that 'Minimum speed is 1s', which handles the case where speed exceeds +99. The formula works and is demostrable in the game. Your idea doesn't work and the easiest way to know that are the rifleman which can shoot at 1 shot per second. How could that be achieved with their 6+ second weapons using your theory?

Jaegen,

Seeing as how the next big publish won't be including any fundamental changes to Pistoleer (new delays and such), would it be possible to get a revision to the FAQ? I would love to see some of Noules and Philosopher's information included in one easy to link to resource. I had no doubt you wanted to wait because there were fixes on the horizon which would have invalidated alot of data, but we're now like 6 weeks from any significant changes.
