Mostly for one major reason:Pistoleers suck, big time. That's right, we master pistoleers (those of us who don't have the points to put into other professions) are still being left in the dust. BH is already horribly overpowered in 1 line *compared to* a profession that puts an entire tree into pistols. As it stands right now, BH is boiled down to /eyeshot;/eyeshot;/eyeshot;/eyeshot;/eyeshot;/shout i aM t3h pWn!!!1;/deathblow. All this would do is put more power into the hands of a profession that has more then enough... and once again, master pistoleer gets the shaft because, once again, there is absolutely nothing special about mastering it.All this would do is bring in a giant wave of power to anyone over pistols 2. If the devs are so hell bent on keeping pistoleer broken (body shot 3 still sucks, none of our specials have states, lowest DPS still, can't even take down a 10k HAM mob), something like this would at least bring us up to an acceptable level.I'm not talking about people who mix smuggler/BH pistol line and everything else, I'm talking about pure pistols 4 and pistoleer here. As it currently stands, master pistoleers (with NOTHING ELSE) are horribly underpowered and in dire need of a DPS boost. All this proposal would do is make all of the template tweakers happy while, once again, giving the shaft to master pistoleers. The original idea behind dual wield pistols was that it would make the master pistoleer something special, something no other profession could touch unless they grinded out that entire tree. The pistoleers way of telling the smuggler and BH line "this is what happens when you devote yourself completely to the pistol".Why rob the master pistoleer of that? Haven't they been shafted enough?
I think this post makes a lot of sense. I think I mentioned once that I thought it should be given at master. I also believe they should put the old requirements for BH back in place and give BH something at master to make it worth the effort. In fact... Why not go through all the professions and revamp the master boxes.

This gets my 5 stars. It's a reasonably sound idea and would help prevent the enevitable cries of "Nerf the pistoleers! They're too uber now!" if we were able to wield all pistols automatically.
Perhaps an addition would be to not have it cap automatically at MP+MM but still require skill mods such as CA/AA's.

Unless they change it from a pistol to a true HW (which they might..and even if they do), I say let it be dual wielded. Commandos have gone through bad times just as everyone else and need some lovin'.
As someone with only 1 GB of RAM, a Radeon 9800XT, and a cable modem, I hope this never happens. One launcher pistol is bad enough. If it somehow happens, then pistoleers should gain the certification to wield them at Master. The one argument against Pistoleer certification of the launcher was that it gave heavy weapons experience and wasn't truly a pistol so much as a short "rocket gun." If the laucnher pistol can be effectively used one-handed, then a master pistoleer should have no trouble wielding them as well.
Anyway, to get slightly off-topic since someone brought it up, I think ALL pistol skill mods should be found in the pistoleer tree. A master pistoleer should be faster and more accurate than a dabbler. Yet, this is not the case. Pistol speed, accuracy, accuracy while moving, etc, should all be in the Pistoleer tree. The reason to get Smuggler and BH would then not be "to make pistoleer worth having." It would be to actually play those professions and obtain "unconventional" methods of firing the gun (i.e. special moves). Back when BH had to master scout, I could understand some skill mods being in the tree. But since a master BH can now master an elite ranged combat profession, these skill mods are no longer needed.

good ideas. im a pistoleer on intrepid along with some other profs. i need power. i am weak. i cant pvp. why am i so weak arg. even a de10 is weak in pvp with people runnin around with 80-90% resist to energy and now everyone runnin around with 39% resist stun + shield generator which is whatever % resists. grrrrr. then they have like 3k mind and im dead before i know it.

a little imbalanced actually.. i don't think you should ever be allowed to dual weild DE-10s without ANY penalty. my build is BH 3040, mpistoleer, smuggler 0040. i can spam last ditch for over 1500 damage at capped speed, and with your chart i would be able to do the same thing TWICE as fast. which is 3200 damage per second against unarmored targets. chart needs some adjusting, otherwise its a good idea

5 star rating.
Well thought out and planned.
As for Commandos switching weapons......doesnt happen. Either we use the flamer or the LP. Nothing else that we have is worth a fig leave. The LP is a pistol yes, but as a Master Commando I would NOT like to see deul wield for the LP at all.
You think 1 LP is bad, ever seen 2 or more commandos dueling it out? You cant see it. TOO MUCH LAG. Not to mention the partical effects. We commandos rather have our other complaints fixed than get duel wield. So no worries there about us in that reguard.
As for me here in the Pistoleer Forums, I just started an alt on Flurry and am taking him Master pistoleer, and found this thread the best thought out I have seen here. PERIOD.
I would Like to commend you all on keeping it polite, profesional and friendly. I don't get to see that too often now a days in on line gaming.
