Thread: Make Scatter Wieldable at Master Pistoleer
SilentJay why would you need them in Pistol 4 when the scatter pistol would still be given to you in Novice BH? You want the DX2 also...okay...go to your forums and do what I am doing here....find a logical reason why.
And a weapon rarely defines a profession. I would argue the BH missions define the BH profession above all else.
Whatever SilentJay you have a point I am sure...you just cannot communicate it with regards to this discussion.
OK....heres a possible reason. I may be wrong but hell, if you have a problem go to Google and search for somebody that gives a damn.
The scatter pistol is a flechette weapon, it fires clusters of darts suspended in an energy field if I recall the technical manual. It is only tagged as a pistol due to its physical size and shape. Its firing profile and recoil would be greatly different to a standard pistol like the FWG5 or Republic or DX2.
Likewise the launcher pistol isn't truely a pistol in anything other than size or shape. It fires packs of small rockets and therefore would behave completely unlike a pistol.

I AM A BH HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO SAY IT.
And I can tell you right now that as a Master Pistoleer with BH pistols I used Stopping Shot and Fan Shot more than Eyeshot and Torso Shot. I used Stopping Shot and Fanshot exclusively in PVE and Stopping Shot eventually overtook Torso Shot inPVP though Eyeshot is still a keeper.
It is about game design, equality, number of choices, style, and other factors. The issue as stated numerous times is why Master Pistoleers cannot use all the pistols in the game but every other elite combat profession can.
Personally I agree with Arch on this one. I bought one last night not even realizing that a master pistoleer couldn't use a PISTOL. I'll admit that was my mistake for not paying attention and the fact that I just started playing again recently since I was mainly a DE back during beta. But that is neither here nor there.
If things are to remain as they are, then the SP just needs to give a BH specific type of XP instead of giving Pistol XP. I have faith that in time the Pistoleers will get additional weapons of their own, so I'm fine with a unique weapon being given to BH's. But, as Arch stated, it's not balance among the other fighting professions. So the answer to that is to give the BH another unique weapon from each of those classes as well, but since they are NOT specializing in those specific fields, they still should not be as good with those weapons as a master of their respective classes.

Off topic, sorry! Original post: Make Scatter Wieldable at Master Pistoleer. I would like that. What I would like to see more? Give bounty hunters the DX2 and give pistoleers eyeshot and torso shot.
You are still all missing the point. Do this, find a master BH, that has at least novice pistoleer, so they can at least use the DX2. Then have them do their best special at something and see the damage. Then take a master pistoleer, with the same DX2 and hit the same thing.
Guarentee the BH does a lot more damage.
That is so wrong. DamagewiseStopping shotis much higher damage then any BH special. I can take down a high HAM mob down much faster with Stopping shot then either Torso or Eye shot even though Stopping shot hits random HAM.
As of Publish 7 Torso Shot lost most of its fire DoT and got no increased damage, so it is just run of the mill 3x damage special now.

Pool targetting makes these specials mucho better.
PvE == /torsoshot; /torsoshot; /healthshot2; /healthshot2; /healthshot2; /healthshot2; /healthshot2; /healthshot2; /healthshot2; /healthshot2
PvP == /ui action toolbarSlot15 (geo blaster); /eyeshot; /eyeshot; /eyeshot; /eyeshot; /eyeshot; /eyeshot; /eyeshot; /eyeshot
The fact that /healthshot2 does more damage with the bleed DoT than /torsoshot is nuts!
Wow OK, Im sorry to have slam some of you, but a lot of you freaking idiots. Repeat this after me.
"There is no one single profession that gets a certification for a weapon that is specifically certified in another profession." For example, a pure bounter hunter is not certified for the DX2. Now remember there is a difference in being able to use, and being certified. Anyone of any profession can equip and attack with any weapon in the game. But if you are not certified you will not be very accurate with it, or be able to do as much damage with it as if you were certified.
But if a BH picks up just even Novice pistoleer, they will get the certification for the DX2. And can then use it certified.
I have no problem keeping the classes unique as far as different specials and weapons. Thats why we have different classes. The pistoleer problem isnt that our pistals suck. Although most are worthless cause their damage is to low. Our problem is our porfessions skills and specials are not working and not balanced at all, thus makig the whole profession not balanced.
_me you are really insecure. No one is asking for anyone's specials or anything that has not already been given to the other elite classes. The reason online discussions get so fouled up is because folks like you come along and cloud the issues with issues that have nothing to do with the subject of the discussion.
Tanks is right...Torso Shot is not what it used to be. That being said in PVE FanShot and Stopping Shot are the clear choices. In PVP the choice between Torso Shot and Stopping shot becomes much more difficult, though eyeshot is eyeshot is eyeshot.
