but i would make this the smuggler's pistol. they have no weapon to call their own and the most famous person to weild one is Han Solo, who is a what?? a Smuggler.

speed 1.1
dmg 170-235
and great range mods, however because it lacks ap it is not good vs players or armored creatures.
my ideal dl44a would be
1.0 speed (since we get no smuggler pistol mods)
maybe 170-300 or something

How in the heck did you get 170 min dmg on that blaster? Speed 1.0? Max 235? I hope these are just typoes or you just might find your a$$ in a sling sooner or later.
If you meant 70-235 that would be more like it but the speed would only be about 1.6 roughly with a damage slice. Krayt tissues don't affect Minimum damage. Speed could possibly be 1.0 with a damage slice if you had it made with an exceptional Krayt tissue, but that is stretching it even if it was made with Platnite Copper 1000 OC and 1000 Conductivity.

we HAVE the DL-44...... it sucks because it's the normal, run of the mill weapon that's available to everyone.....
the DL-44 that Han used in the movies is a heavily modified pistol that is illegal because of all the modifications he made to it....... that's my basis that a new, revamped DL-44 should be given to smugglers, meaning TWO different DL-44 pistols--a legal one, and an illegal one...
perhaps make it a loot reward from the new smuggler missions that have been talked about
