Thread: Petition-- Revamp the DL-44 Blaster
I miss my DL-44. It has a scope and a large muzzle brake and now hangs on my wall next to my DL-18 with scope and large muzzle brake. I used to get compliments on how my 44 looked cuz not many at the time had both scopes and muzzle brakes. I would support a slightly beefed up version for the Marksmen, say as a tier 4 cert, and another one comparable to the Republic certed at both Pistoleer and Smuggler.
44's are also the most recognizable pistol, both is sound and looks, both of which are first rate.

"So we know that in the near future there will be a Weapon Revamp of sorts, but we don't know everything it entails. With this in mind, I'd like to bring up a popular (though not necessarily common) suggestion.
There is a call in the Pistoleer forum to revamp the DL-44 and DL-44 Metal blasters specifically. The DL-44 was Han Solo's pistol of choice, yet in SWG, it pales in comparison to other weapons. Granted Han more than likely "madea some special modifications himself." Still, this weapon screams Star Wars. It is instantly recognizable.
Unfortunately, it is simply never seen unless you are a newbie browsing the Bazaar for a cheap pistol. As soon as you get enough money and get a few more certs, you'll be buying a better weapon. I've little doubt that there are weaponsmiths who power grind to master and begin catering to the elite, and never even craft one of these. 
It is for these reasons that we as Pistoleers and Star Wars fans would like for the DL-44 and DL-44 Metal blasters to be given special consideration in the Weapon Revamp. We can't really ask for specifics without knowing how it would fit into the paradigm, but ask that it become at least a little more desirable (and thereby more frequently seen) weapon.

I really hope this weapon becomes the most popular pistol as it should be.
my opinion the DL-44 should have ap-2 and a much higher certification
seriously keep all the stats as they are and give it medium armor piercing. In all honesty (fixing broken specials aside) that would be the combat balance that pistoleer and smuggler need.
Maybe we can hope against hope that the combat revamp will fix this but either way this gun should be what the Star Wars Universe has made it out to be, a highpowered extremely regulated hand cannon.

It's things like this, the details, that make this game less of a SW game rather than some EQ in space.
If they are to use the SW license, THEY NEED TO GET IT RIGHT, HELL!
Id love to see the DL-44 become a more viable "everyday use" type pistol! When i think about weapons in the star wars universe, the dl-44 is the first that comes to mind. Id love to see the devs give it a AP1 rating
