Bit late, but I thought I'd throw it in anyway - great post

i don't think he's asking for too much.... so far, we have one knockdown, and no other state attacks whatsoever in the pistoleer line

stopping shot doesn't stop anything

multi-target pistol shot rarely hits multiple targets

bodyshot3 is too slow, costs too much ham to be considered useful

etc.


i don't think it's very logical to master pistoleer and still use the special you've used since pistol techs IV

i rarely even bleed anymore as it helps so little in combat and fanshot does more damage than bodyshots, even if it doesn't target one HAM pool

i start off with a pistol whip and fanshot to finish, that's it, i would like more attacks to use that are useful in certain situations instead of just spam our one, useful special until the target is dead

Great post Rand. Isn't pistoleer the second most popular professon in the game??

How is it they have fixed "less popular" professions before ours??

Personally, I'd like to see disarming shot one ... disarm... by doing a five second single target delay. DS2 should have two options - 5 second delay to targets in a cone or 10 second delay to a single target. This way, it doesn't interfere with the more powerful, elite, panic shot.


I think PMD2 should do the same as PMD1, with a state effect (blind or dizzy IMO), and a very small area of effect.


Stopping shot actually stopping people sounds good


Fan shot staying ranged would be great, too.


Fixes to BS3, MTPS, Double tap, and all of the point blank shots need to occur as well, but I'm not sure what to do with them

Great post, man! I agree with you all the way. You make very valid and usable arguments for change. I have a question though.....Is there some way you, as a coorspondant, can get a DEV to even glance at this? People have made their issues known for awhile now, and it appears as if nothing has been done to fix this profession. In defense of Carbineers, I've seen what happens when they use their specials, OUCH...I have to contantly heal them or they incap themselves. They needed love a long time ago. So far, from what I've seen though, is that Pistoleers were seen as being more functional than some other professions. At least we could survive, kinda mentality. But I agree, it's our turn to get fixed. Fix us and see what happens.........we may actually be able to stand toe-to-toe with some other combat classes, hahaha.

Fan shot is fine and so is PMD1, but most of our others are worthless.


Maybe Double-tap could do 60% health/40% mind damage, or 70/30 for balance instead of random HAM damage.


MTPS should hit all targets within a 30m radius as befitting a Master shot.


Disarming shot could give a small delay to a single target to simulate being disarmed of your weapon, and disarming shot 2 could have a higher delay in a cone attack.


PMD2 needs to be a better KD than PM1 as well, maybe make it a KD/dizzy or a KD/delay.


Body shot 3 need to be more powerful than BS2 for sure, give it a better multiplier.


MaybeStopping shot could be a ranged KD since it is supposed to stop an opponent in their tracks or at least a posture down attack along with a high damage multiplier.


Now for the Point blank shots heh.


My idea for Point Blank Single 2 is for it to be able to hit the mind pool entirely, with a decent damage multiplier ,but only at 15m or so, due to lag issues. I mean come on its a point blank attack, not too hard to miss the head at point blank on 1 target.


My idea for Point Blank Area 2 is for it to hit all targets in a 15m radius sort of like a spin attack for melee professions, but for Pistoleer, this would probably be a random HAM attack with a decent multiplier.


Any professions should fear coming into 30m or less of us, as we should be able to mop the floor with them ,and outside 30m we should be able to deal decent damage.


And last but not least, dont forget to give us Dual Pistols somehow, preferably in the Master box.

Already taken care of, I assure you. Lines of communication are crucial to the success of the Correspondent program. Equally crucial is that we only use them for critical information, such as summaries of what's going on in the boards orimportantissues/questions that are brought up. Reports such as this one definitely qualify.
