I think that pvp is fairly broken right now (knock-downs, pet power vs player strength, lots of resists and other things broken, and single shot kills). But if they want to adjust knock-downs to help pvp, then do it just for pvp - like a 10 second re-knock-down timer for PLAYERS. They don't need to affect pve to help balance pvp.

As for getting exp without knockdown. I find that starting prone, using a bleed or two, and blasting away till the mob sees me often kills whites before they even get to me, and for tougher things, once they charge, alternate warning shot and damage and you rarely even take a hit.

Knockdown is cheap in PVP, but in PVE, let it be!

This coming from the man who tried to pistol wip a Grand Krayt Dragon! I hit the basterd a few times till i woke up in the cloneing facility

Couple of things, and keep in mind I am a CH/Pistoleer.


1) As of the BigPatch coming soon CH's cannot call 3 rancors, in fact only a master CH can call a rancor and even then he can only call one.


2) Don't you see a problem when the only move used consistently in PvE is knockdown? if you can chain knockdowns don't you think that's a little out of balance? One move on the first tier of pistoleer abilities outweighs all the other moves they can get?


Maybe if the current knockdown was given at master level it would be okay, but as it is now you have the supreme combat ability gained at a whopping one box after novice. This is horribly out of whack.

Im not quite to pistol whip yet 40k to go, actually was only 20k away when i let someone teach me expert ranged accidentaly,hurray thank god for supression fire. I digress the only skill that im intrested in getting is pistol whip, i dont know but from what i read there isnt anything else that seems to do much in the pistoleer tree, is there?


I seem to be always one step behind the nerf bat, it would be one thing if they would fix these issues but instead they totally decimate everything.

That's why they invented things called "groups".


Oh, and here's how a novice Pistoleer can solo a white (maybe even a yellow)with little to no risk. Try it sometime.


Prone at 60 meters. Healthshot 1, Healthshot 2, Bodyshot2 x3 - critter now gets a "lock" on you and charges.


Warning Shot, BodyShot2, Warning Shot, Bodyshot2, repeat ad infinitum

I use that same strategy and it works on most creatures like a charm. I take out 7000hp red conningcreaturesusing it, one after another.

Yeah it is a problem when you can chain and spam Pistolwhip,BUT there is a ltd. range to it. It's not like we are shooting you in the eye and you are dead in one shot or anything.

A novel idea. Instead of just plain blanket nerfing knockdowns why not just fix knockdown defense. In fact a lot of the defenses could use some work because they don't seem to do much of anything at the moment.

well guys, i'm officially confused. when you say knockdown, do you mean pistol melee defense 1? and when you say pistol whip, do you mean pistol melee defense 2? i've searched all over, and read many threads here, and those are the only two things i can come up with. thanks for any answers i get.

Where do pistoleers get knockdown from? I have not seen it as an ability for them
