"Americans need not point the finger at a man who did one wrong"

This one wrong was perhaps the greatest injustice and most inhuman act in modern society, perhapsever. There is no way to trivialize or justifywhat hitler did, ever, period!Perhaps your hatred for the Americans stems from the USA still occupying your country as a result of your defeat, stemming from an attempt at world domination.

Couple counterpoints if I may. The nation of Japan initiated the attack on the USA with a brutal attack on pearl harbor. Yes we retaliated with the most powerful weapon on the earth at that time as a counter attack and crushed our enemies. Is it justifiable to counter attack your attacker to the best of your ability? Yes.

I would agree with you, as would many americans, that the current war(Iraq) and the war with vietnam are not popular wars and the justification for the attacks is questionable at best. The attacks on the native americans is inexcusable and can never be justified in any regards (luckliy they are making some tax free money from their casinos), butat that time the USAwasnt even the USA, it was a few states compromising of a degenerate influx of europeans compromising of english, scotch irish and french/germans to name the largest ethnicities. This is our national heritage, not pretty I know. Even today the modern americans are paying and regretting many of the injustices of the past, such as slavery and mistreatment of the american indians after the natives were defeated in a bloody, hard fought war. If it wasnt for the vast division of the native american tribes, perhaps history would be different for the USA, but thats a mute point now.

Ihope you don't view this post as a flame or as american propoganda. I am proud to be an american and I love my country. When the time comes for the world to unite and that time will eventually come. I am confident we will pull together as one planet and not as a division of separate countries.

Regards,

Delim

Ok.. time for a history lesson.

I'm not justifying Hitler's actions towards jews.. if I ever did, I'd be shot by my (loving) wife. He put to death many innocent people, almost as many as the Hiroshima bomb.. And knowing your history, you'll know there was more than one bomb dropped. Lets move past this.

Americans were indeed attacked by Japan. The Japanese did so for reasons of economy. They had sanctions placed upon them by the USA that prohibited trade, meaning they had a lack of oil supply and had no conceiveable means to run the country at that time (Industrialization)without oil... they approximated that they had six months of supply left at the time of the Pearl Harbor attack.

They attacked America in what they hoped would cripple theAmerican fleet which would then allow them to gain access to trade routes for oil, in which they hoped tore-pioneer piracy in order to take the oil that they needed to fuel their machine plants.

At the time of the two nuclearexplosions, Japan had surrendered, they had no conceiveable meansto transport the armies that America said they had. (apparentlyAmerica approximated the armies of Japan to be higher than thepopulationof Japan at that time) It was later released that they wanted to test the effects of nuclear weaponary and thought it an oppurtune time and the END of World War II by intimidating all other nations by tearing Japan apart. This was after Hitler had brought about his own death and Germany had surrendered and well after Italy had surrendered arms.

I've seen many interviews where top-ranking officers called Hiroshima nothing more than an experiment.

The ever-lasting effects of Hiroshima will never truly be accounted for, multiple defects were found within that region not to mention civilian casualities larger than any other act in the history of civilization at the time of explosion.

Flash forward. Vietnam. They went in there because one state of communism was attempting to take over the other state.. Were they? They weren't doing so with force and it was well known the Americans hatred for communism (How would they profit if a nation didn't subscribe to the politics of commercialism) forced them into the breach against "The big red machine"

Flash Forward, Afghanistan. "Osama Bin Laden" "Al Quaeda" - Please do tell me, What solid evidence did they ever receive upon this excersize of terror? Could it not be perceived that this was taken on as an act of war by another race who felt persecuted through the years and years of support of the Israeli Military that ripped apart the Palestinians? My wife used to live in Israel, she has told me numerous horror stories and she is Jewish! not Palestinian.. No it was an act of great terror, of which America went in and demolished a group of Taleban - Yes, they free'd the country but did they find the supposed terror group? Is Osama known to be dead or alive? Even now, he still throws fear into what the Americans do.

Flash Forward Iraq "Weapons of Mass Destruction" - Ok, Israel, India, Pakistan, Russia, Korea, China and France all have nuclear technology, Korea and China have both declared that they have these weapons and that they will use them if America attacked. America held off attacking Cuba over similar things, they will not go into Korea for fear of Nuclear strikes.. This is a very safe move by America - Why on earth would they go into Iraq if they felt Iraq had such things?

Reports from Weapon Inspectors said Iraq was doing everything within its power to allow the weapon detectors to do their jobs. They have now demolished a country that although was a dictatorship, was a functional country - What do they have now?

I realise with all of these nations, there are oppressive regimes.. - Wait, no.. I don't realise, I've never lived in any of them, I have to believe what CNN tells me. I would say the Native Americans have alot to say about being persecuted, not to mention African Americans (until very recently) Israel persecutes its Palestinians.

The difference between America and Israel in their dealings with their enemy is they have weaponary that doesn't require someone to suicide bomb in order to hit their targets. That is the only difference between these oppressive regimes.

I write this now, as I live in New Zealand.. A country that lost a free-trade deal with millions to its economy by having its prime minister stand up and basically call George Bush a bafoon and state that had George Clinton still been in power, Iraq would not have been attacked.

Mods, please delete all the political crap from this thread and lock it for all time. This is the second weekend in a row it has been attacked by necro-posting trolls, and it's obviously not going to stop.

There are places for discussions like these, but they take place in the GAT, and even THAT's questionable. This is no place to smearour correspondent or undertake a political debate.

Close it down and delete the past few posts, including mine.
