Thread: Hologrinders: How to grind pistoleer in 15 hours or less

Alright, I don't want to sound too stupid here, but what use is the muon? I've never had any issues with mind at all. Do the quenkers attack your mind stats, or is it an armor issue, or what?
Like what wulfheir said, spamming constant specials will drop your mind very quickly, especially with a helmet on.

"So thats roughly 27k exp per lair. Sometimes more, most of the time less cus of all the **edit** babies. Figure in the time it takes to get the missions half the time you have to click so many times you want to give up and it will take you longer then 15 hours. Atleast a few days."
You are right. Sometimes there are lots of babies, and thatwould to piss me off like no other, especially because it would drop the exp you get for the lair (if no babies spawn, the lair will be worth 4k+. if they do spawn,it will be under 3k sometimes).
If you are playing at a decent pace, you should be able to master in 8 to 9 two hour sessions (or 16 to 18 hours). If you go as fast as possible (get to the first lair, take a muon, finish the lairs and get 2 more missions before your muon wares off) you can do this every 13 minutes. This means 10+runs before the buffs wear down, or 500k+ exp (unless you have an excess of babies spawn). If you can manage that without SWG problems (crashing, server crashing, lag, etc), you can do it in around 7 runs or 14 hours.

Lotsa good info, and I'm not even a hologrinder, just trying to move up in Pistoleer.
Are the Tortors on Talus the same as the big turtles on Rori?
I'll have to try out these 3; Tortons, Baz Nitches on Dath, and Quenkers on Dant. I tried a brief trip on Dant solo a little while ago as Novice Pistoleer, got some kind of Bol thing that aggrod and almost killed me. Too tough.
Bri, the secret to running fast and somewhat easy XP against anything on Dantooine is buying some armor that is 60+% kinetic resistance and having a doctor buff your stats. With buff stats not only do you have more health, but your substats also allow you to regenerate FAST during combat .. like 100+ health/action in about 5-10 secs. Then you add in Muon to buff your mind and its substats, and when you hit your muon debuff, you just pop a Fishak (Chef food) to offset the low and your mind is back to normal except for focus and willpower.
Which means with all these combined (armor + buffs + muon + fishak), Bols, Quenkers, Pikets, Volitors .. all of them are easy and you WILL have a ton of fun fighting them. The only down part is that you'll get addicted to buffs and you won't want to go anywhere without a set of doc buffs on you. lol
Now this sounds like something that is too much of a hassle. Really it isn't. The main hassle is getting setup. Buying the armor, 2-3 crates of muon, 2-3 crates of Fishak. After that, the only thing you have to do is have a doc buff you and you're good to go.

I would only change the quenkers to Gaint Baz's on Dath. They only pop out 2 at a time, have no armor rating ( quenkers have light armor don't they?) and a lair and it's spawns is worth about 30k.
go prone, slap on the bleeds and get clear (70m) before the first bleed tick. Only the Baz you've bled will come to you and they are much easier 1 on 1. Be aware that Baz's have a decidedly unhealthy interest in vehicles. Your target may just run past you and aggro your ride. Be sure and park a safe distance away, so that once the bleed starts ticking, you are closer to the bleeder than your parking spot is.
You can furhter speed this up by picking up feign death from the smuggler tree, then you can bleed both baz's and feign if it gets too heavy. Have a snack and when the health bar is down to 1 you get up and start with the bodyshots.
No one wanted to have the game degenerate into grind madness, but SOE brought it on themselves with this holo stuff.
i got master pistol on dath too...
to do them easily...you need Marks 0404/pistoleer 0001/novice medic (and if you want novice brawler)
my fav spot is dath outpost...
baz/gaping spiders (not hunters...normal ones...hunters aren worth the time to kill for the xp):
park 90-100m out (as said they will eat your ride and that just slows down the whole grind)
1) kneel/prone
2) healthshot1/2 +peace
3) move back to about 80m from the MOB/Lair
only the bleeding mob aggro's...
4) suppressionfire when it gets in range (gives you a few more secs to hit them)
5) spam bodyshot2 or a random shot if you prefer...either works
6) move back <but no more than 90-100m from lair> spamming hits
7) pistolmeleedefense1 (and if you have it warcry1) + and move back and spam
8) repeat steps 4-7 till mob is dead...
**heal as needed or get buffs or whatever...but you'll more than likely only need to heal your own specials damage...also min/max powerups are good to have...and moun for a quick mind heal...but unlike many critters the baz's and spiders dont actively hit your mind...i find iceblasters or vegehash which just boosts your will is fine...
each giant baz/spider/lair is worth 5k xp, ~350 combat xp
you get 6 giant baz per mission...2 starters...2 after first hit...2 at 50% lair health..(about 35k total pistol xp,2500 combat).spiders are just normal spawns...so spawn a lot
as for locs....get giant baz missions...spiders are almost directly NE of the dath outpost...and are very thickly spawned there...which is a duh since thats the "Spider ClanNightsisters home area" even tho its a singing mountain clan POI site...go figure
if you have other pistol skills you want to use then you can...but thats what i used to get upto master...
Throw a camp as close as you can to the lair, pull out you broken ride and begin as above. Several of the spawned Baz's will aggro your ride instead of you as the first bleed ticks ( I find around %50) and will stay on your ride as you pound them.
70% Kinetic
Mid-Range FWG5 for grind purposes
Vercupti of Agazza Boleruuee (food)
Doctor Buffs
I kill the giant baz nitches like some of the others here. I however, don't spam specials. I just run in there with my ubese on and body shot1/2 the first one, switch to the other, body shot 1/2 that one and then kill him. By the time I'm done with the first one, the second one is nearly dead. I pop the Vercupti, which gives you mind regen boost, that by the time it wears off, you can just pop another one. This, unlike muon, will leave you with no down time. I still keep muon and fishak on hand for emergancies, but don't normally need to use them.
I can rip through these layers like nothing, and with an 11K credits and 30K experience payoff, I don't think you can beat them.
