I have no trouble knocking down the same mob, after I wait out the 30 second timer. This was implimented so players can't keep targets on their backs indefinitely (PvE & PvP). If you already knew about the timer and are talking about something I'm not aware of, then that's something different.


It also sounds like you need a little more speed, as I can squeeze off about 4 rounds as a Master Pistoleer (no skill tapes) before they stand back up. Note that there is a bug where if you KD a target and try knock him down again while he's already on his back, he gets up immediately.


I think creature level may also play a factor in how quickly they stand, but I can't be certain. Effects stick on the really high level NPCs pretty close to 0% of the time it seems.. something novamarine in particular isn't happy about (nobody is).


And please, stop using Full Charge Shot. It eats your weapon for breakfast, and gets outdamaged by most of our specials even at Novice level.

Let me echo this, it's on the money ... and it's one of the reasons that Pistoleer/CH, the doormat combo of PvP, can be so dominant in PvE. In PvE, using a pet that has a dizzy attack, my strategy is generally to send the pet in onto a target, HS2 to get the bleed going, PMD1 to get the mob on its back, and hope that the pet's dizzy attack sticks so that the mob is down for the count while I pump more HS2's into it, or even stop using specials if the mob's HAM is low enough and the pet is getting in good damage ... against multiple opponents you just rinse and repeat -- once the mob is on its back and getting chewed by the pet, you turn and face a new opponent for a series of HS2's, and when the pet is done killing the first target, send in the pet for the next dizzy/KD combo.


It's not that this *never* works in PvP but ... not nearly as reliably.

I don't have or ever did have a damage problem with KD, I routinely hit 3000-4000 DMG on a KD'd target with a 375 DMG Mod Republic Blaster, doesnt matter what as long as it's down. I use stopping shot or now I can use last ditch.



I am an SOE customer, now only if they'd treat me as one...hell, I'd be happy if they treated me like a McDonald's customer.

Yes, i suppose that different mobs have different protections to KD. It's impossible for example for a pistoleer to KD a nighsister, but not for a TK. I think the mobs have different numbers and resistances to KD, and also the power of our pistoleer KD is less effective than others classes KD.

I agree with the original post, but must add that we need AP2, nothing less, nothing else.

Give us the BlasTech DL-44 heavy blaster pistol with AP2 blast damage and i would be happy. He dropped tons of armored stormies with that thing, so it would be realistic.

After I hit 3344 I went after 10-15 of these Native missions (dantari, janta, etc) and I was able to do multiple KDs on them.Keep in mind these are the easier Natives withless resists. Nevertheless, I was able to multiple KD them.


Also, I was almost able to get 2 shots in while they were down. A stopping shot that with either blocked (while down? Come on!) or hit, and a Fan Shot as they were getting up. Couldnt do 2 Stopping shots though or 2 Full Charge shots.


I could also do 2 shots on quenkers while KD.


Maybe I can get more than 2 shots in while a target is KD once I hit master? I will be sure to test it.


I will check KD and pickets today.


P.S. I posted something about Fan Shot. Might someone give me some insight. thx

Tested KD on the pickets once again. You can in fact KD them a 2nd time. However, its difficult to KD them a 2nd time. The first time its almost a guarantee that theyll fall. The 2nd time they resist a lot. So you got to keep trying again and again. In other words, youre better off KDing them once and not bothering to do it again because your wasting rounds.
