Riflemen shouldnt be able to kill a master pistoleer within 15m with 3 hits...it just doesnt make sense, and it's happened to me before on several occassions.

The real problem honestly isn't for riflemen to be nerfed but pistoleer needs toactually befixed. Half the specials are broken and the ones that do work aren't nearly effective enough in pvp. Master pistoleer is USELESS without smuggler or bounty hunter pistols skills.

I for one have smuggler DF skills and don't fear riflemen from 0-20m anymore like i use to when i was just a Master Pistoleer, but as far as game mechanics go a master combat proffession shouldnt have to rely on the skills attained from another proffession to be successful. Am I asking for every proffession to be equal? No, that'd be incredibly dull, but it would be nice to see a singular master pistoleer win the majority of 1v1pvp fights against a riflemen for example when they are within certain ranges and are evenly matched as far as armor and buffs go.

Agreed, but fixing this won't call for a hard core castration or nerfing. It will hopefully be taken care of as part of the balancing. I've noticed that my pistol is terribly inaccurate at long range on autofire, but that specials still hit pretty well. I think rifleman is similar. If they are spamming specials, the point blank penalties aren't nearly as bad as they ought to be. But, if/when they fix it so the rifleman is pretty bad at close range, don't be surprised if we suffer too at long range.

I think the biggest problem is that people are too tracked on this "spam your favorite special" style of PvPing to realize that pistoleers get some nice perks that rifleman don't. Pistol whip, for instance.

In PvP, Area of Effect can be defeated. Attack your opponent at 90 degree increments so that you aren't hit by anyone else's attack. Secondly, in that situation, the rifleman can't kite both of you. Instead of trying to spam fan shot on said rifleman, pistol whip him. A downed rifleman can't attack. Even if you get incapped, your comrades will get off quite a few shots in the stead of it.

As for the person in question, it sounds like they are an immature person who I love to take shots at in these forums. "I'm not the uber-133t hardcore mutha that I should be. I did the same thing as everyone else, but I am special" types are a big reason I stopped posting these forums.

I can feel for the holo hunters who get outdamaged by rifleman, but I think thats more to do with the kill stealing problems that krayt and holo hunts have caused.

The biggest thing to keep in mind, is that this system is gone in a month or two. Rifleman will get their niche, as will pistoleers and every other class. What those niches are, no one knows outside of SOE. And I must say, for the record, I love both rifleman and pistoleer. Both of them are wonderful professions that each have their advantages and disadvantages (which compliment each other quite nicely, actually)

Like I said, I know this isn't all pistoleers, but is this a general feeling among you guys?

As for the issue with rifleman, it is a bit unbalanced atm. The Marksman branches was supposed to be rifleman on long range, carbineer on medium range and pistoleer on short range. The idea is actually excellent, but when Rifleman gets the highest damaging weapons and are also made able to use these with great results on short range, it becomes a very overpowered situation.

I never bother crying for nerfs. I do however, sometimes cry for things to get fixed, so it is within a logic situation. On 2meters distance a Rifleman should stand no chance to a Pistoleer, and that is how it should be. Just like no Pistoleer should have any chance vs a Rifleman at 64m range ofcourse.

The whole combat system is being changed soon that should bring some balance. Until then, however, there is no point whining about any specific class since all combat classes are broken in some way or another.

Pistoleers need to make use of their class skills. We are good at closer range and no the move. Not standing at 60 paces trying to take on a rifleman. If you run round one with burst run on you'd expect to stand a good chance. I've only come up against a rifleman once and that was rushing a group of rebels who'd barrackaded in our base. I took one hit at point blank rangeand was out cold, heh.

Hopefully the new combat system will see a balance that stops everyone whining, but you can guarantee you'll still have some kids shouting that riflemen do too much damage or that pistoleer is too fast, or whatever.

well, i don't do much pvp, other than when the imperials raid moenia etc. but this past weeked, a couple (maybe 4 or 5) imperials attacked moenia. I happened to get caught right before the timer for going covert, and they had a tkm with them, who single handedly took the 5 or so rebels down. Here's how i went down:

1) he was nearly incapped, with just a drop of health left, so i shot him and incapped him.

2) I ran towards him to db but they had a medic who revived him.

3) I turned around and ran, because i knew i couldn't take him.

4) he caught up (burst run?) and knocked me down

5) while i was down he hit me 2-3 times, and by the time i stood up i was incapped.

This,i think, is a major problem. Nobody should be able to kill another player in under 5 hits. I'm not saying nerf tk, but balance it out, to say the least.

Being a Master TKA I completely disagree with you. TKA is designed to inflict massive amounts of damage on a target...If you're foolish enough to get in their striking range then you should welcome death freely. Imagine being the TKA chasing a pistoleer that's just outside of range...you can do nothing to hurt them. So to put it plainly...inside 20m a Teras Kasi Master should kick the crap out of you every single time.

TKA have a prayer within 10m of me, but other than that they don't

Bratacc, I'm a Master pistoleer and a TKA. and have wanted to be a TKA since before the game was published. If in the newly blanced combat system Pistoleers are made ineffectuall outside of 30 meters as we should be, then a TKA should have there range reduced back to what it once was. Heres my reasoning, If you hit burst run half a second before me you'll close that ten meter gap and i'm on the ground dead. I could try to kite you but I would only hit one in every ten times at 64 meters and that would require you being stupid enough to follow me, which I'm asuming you're not. Remeber balance means balance for everybody, don't be so quick to toot your own horn.

I'm mean no offence, this is just my humble opinion.
