Pistoleer is a 2ndary profession to me (accuracy and speed mods only), so take my input for what it's worth. Maybe discussing today's combat mechanics is useful to help us all understand how to survive until the combat revamp comes out. But this thread has little other utility. Pointing out thatcombatclasses are not well balanced is less than profound. Rather than bemoan the state of today's combat mechanics, wouldn't it be more productive to justaccept that things are the way they are, realize that they won't be this way much longer, and seek out tactics that work in the meantime?

I always come to this board looking for threads about things that work, that I hadn't thought of. I just learned today that even though bleeds are badly nerfed, the initial damage done by the bleed is much higher now, to the tune of a better dps than our body shots. I plan to investigate this in detail tonight A relatively low percentage of the threads here are that productive though. Most are just complaints. I came this this thread thinking Imight uncover some new insights into how to conduct battle against a rifleman. Instead, I get a badly designed test that "proves" something we already knew.

Complain if it makes you feel better I guess. But it doesn't really accomplish much.

It is actually 2ndary to my Smuggler (with Merchant tertiery). Nice guess, but judgemental and most notably, wrong. Thanks for playing today on Jump to Conclusions (name that movie).

the riflemen profession as a whole, and flame throwers are definitely out of balance with the rest of combat.

Personally I find it too unfair to guage the DPS of fanshot when only in relation to a single player.

I'd rather argue to make stopping shot more damage, than to argue fanshot needs more damage.

Case in point, had a nice fight over the weekend in dearic. Right in front of the cloning center. For anyone that knows the area makes a nice little rectangular box.. At any rate the enemy had found themselves bunched up in 1 end of the "box". I took posistion at the opposite end, lined them up and opened up with fanshot.

A min or so later... got 3 or 4 incaps with it. Forced the remaining group to have to reconcentrate on killing me, gave my tka's, more than enough time to pound them into oblivion.

I went on much of the night just standing my distance fanshotting the crowd. Worked quite well.

Knowing this kind of capability exists I'd be hestitant, at least cautious to make any changes to the special in terms of damage increase.

then we tested it the other way round

yea pistoleer is definitely broken.. but so is rifleman and it really does need a speed nerf.

anyways if TH were here all he'd say is "combat revamp"

this has nothing to do with CH

yes it does, waste of skillpoints you could use towards defenses.

When defense stacking is removed then it won't matter. There is no reason to pursue defenses from another profession as the only ones that will apply are the ones from the profession itself, or at least from my understanding.
