Thread: DX2 or scout blaster
if you want to level up get a 1.7 106-160 dx2.
slaughter pickets.
you kill them twice as fast with a dx2 than a republic and its less mind cost.
accuracy is better too.
don't know why people say this weapon sucks. it's very nice imo.
I am trying to write up a "best pistol" thread for either the guide or a sticky that radon is working. This thread seems to have done it all though. Not much I can say that hasn't been said already, but it bears repeating...
Carry all 5 damage types we have available to us at all times - learn to use /examine, macro it if you have to - the DX2 is a great gun if it is post patch 6 - Everyone can use Republic Blasters, there is no cert. It's like a CDEF, an Entertainer can even use it (Expect this to change someday) - The Genosian cave is up, but you cannot enter it yet. 2-3 weeks before it goes "Live Live".
I think that covers it.
Has anyone ever used a power 5 pistol? It's energy right?

You don't need the certification for the new republic blasters that were made after the publish when mounts came out (I think that's the one). Anyone can use one of these a republic blasters even without putting any skill points into a combat profession. Some people have the certificate for it, but it was bugged and apparently even some of them still wasn't certified to use the old RB's and still got the reduced damage because of it.
It's been about 4 months since the newer RB's came out, so there shouldn't be that many of the old ones left in my opinion. I don't know how you can tell if one is the old one or the newone except equip it and if you get the message that you lack the skill to use this weapon.....well then it's the old RB.
Personally, I think the devs should add the date to anything that's crafted by the players just like the item creator shows who made it or owned it. Also they should add whether the weapon was sliced or not..
my persnal fave is the metal dl-44.....love that chrome
Mines 76 -328 speed 1.9 +65 to accuracy and I take down 6 stormtroopers simultaneously with out breaking a sweat.
Got my greeding mits on a krayt scout blaster yesterday and got a damage slice on it, with a max/min power up it's quite amusing, still I swap to my RB,DX2 or FWG5 depending on the target...
Looking forward to the lightweight FWG5....krayt tissues, dmg slice.../drool 
Like folks here have said tho some of the pistols you have to have just cos their cool. As a pistoleer I feel its only right to have a small armoury of all the best ones. Even just for the wall of your house.
