After consistently getting NO exp using my FWG5 in a large group hunting on Lok last nite, and LOW exp using my Scout Blaster, I realized the problem: even tho the numbers in the combat window showed I was doing serious damage, the mobs were 100% Heat resist and most also had high Energy resists. What this resulted in was all my uber damage being filtered out post combat window. So I set up a new "examine" hotkey, went out today and got a new DX2 pistol, and started using the best weapon for each mob we fought. My first tests show that I'm now getting consistently higher exp on mobs that are energy resist than I was when using my Scout and MUCH better than my FWG was vs. mobs with 100% Heat resist. All in all, even though the DX2 ratio seems much worse than my FWG5, and quite a bit worse than my trusty Scout Blaster, it consistently out exp's both on higher end mobs with high Heat/Energy resists. Also, dont forget to factor in the AP1 which adds to the damage you see in the combat window after it's displayed quite significantly. Hope this helps to bring a little more respect to this mis-understood weapon, it sure had for me.

All resources that require a specific type of steel or iron or some such are considered rare. The reason that most weaponsmiths don't craft DX2s is because they are bugged for the following reasons:

DX2s should have AR of 1. As of now, they do not.

Advanced weapons (such as the DX2) require multiple components of the same item. Crafting is bugged in that if an item requires 2 of the same component, the final weapon does not incorporate any bonuses form those components. So say the T21 requires 10 power handlers. it doesn't take into account the damage increase from a single power handler. So the damage isn't that great until this is fixed. (Supposedly, next big patch)

Lastly, HAM costs need to be fixed in crafted weapons so we can experiment them to get them down. This will be fixed in next patch as well.

My 2 cents.
