Also, which do you find you use moreoffensively, pistols or tkm? For pve or for pvp? Thanks in advance.

Isn't this what TKM is for? Well, except for the kinetic only part of it. I'm also on this cruise and am loving it so far. Though, to be totally honest, I'm not enjoying the pistoleer as much as smuggler and TK (0/3/1/3 smuggler, 0/0/1/0 TK, 0/0/0/1 pistoleer), but it's very early for me as you can see.

I've been hanging out at the Krayt Canyon (what an amazing place to xp, by the way--good mobs everywhere! and was only killed once--by the dragon) and soloing lairs of stuff without buffs. TK is really great. My pistol xp tends to come only from the first few bleed shots, after that they close, I club them down, shoot once more, then switch to TK and kick butt on that and all the rest of the critters that have come running (thank the force for 70 percent ubese). I'm using pistoleer, but TK gets most of the points unless I focus on it.






He has a point, perhaps it's because I've had this setup since the early days that I've noticed the huge change. TKM is not what it once was, Krayts used to be the only things with heavy armor and one of the rare things with medium. Those days are long gone. Geo Cave, Corvette and the upcoming deathwatch will all have medium armor standard, heavy armor often mobs that will have 80-100% to kinetic. TKM just doesn't cut it compared to 2-hand or Pike whose area attacks own those mobs in seconds. AP2 really makes a difference in those situations, especially with electric and blast damage types.
