"Well, if you're a CH feel free to drop medic. You can use pet stims without medic."

Pet stims are handy indeed, but there is a 10sec delay on their use, where as it's only a 5 sec delay on stims...If you have ever played CH and sent your best pet to take 3 sbd agros off your only grp healer then you'd know how vital it is to be able to throw 3 heals at your pet in 10 seconds instead of just one. I guess if i didnt spend most of my time in places like the DWB and the vette lately, dropping medic wouldnt be an issue, but since thats currently where my combat focus is it's pretty important. Still not sure what i'm gonna do, seriously steering toeards dropping pistoleer for TKM, just because as another person said on my other thread...everyone should experience TK atleast once. If Ido that, i'll only do it til just before the CB, then i'll get pistoleer back in hopes that the CB fixes it. I'll probably just chicken out tho lol...we will see

Not sure about your servers, but on the "unofficial PvP server", Bloodfin, all of the aforementioned templates would get chewed up and spit out So far the most effective temp I have come across for pistoleer, with Doc in it,is:

Master Pistoleer

Doc 4/0/3/0

Smuggler 0/0/4/0

This template requires plenty of tapes, DoT weapons, etc, but is really they only way to balance off healing states, poisons, and diseases, with maximum fire power. Get yourself some great DoT weapons, (personally I use 1-2 for each HAM pool and focus on whatever pool is weaker, usually mind). With Low Blow you can get the opponent on the groud, /warcry to keep them there an extra tick, or if you have a high damage geo, last ditch the crap out of them. Run a poison healing macro in the background and you are in the clear. Also with intimidate and warcry, our more or less pathetic Acc. can survive against fencers. Also, if you do not have a mind poison / fire pistol, I reccomend picking up

MPistols

Doc 4/0/3/0

CM 3/0/0/4

Allows around 300-500 tick poisons, although not as good as DoTed weapons because they do not reapply once your opponent clears them

Good guide tho, just need some doc templates in there

The best pistoleers on Bloodfin are not docs....the just travel with them everywhere they go

Pistol DOT's are not easy to find, and with the new delays, if they all dont have exceptional potencies, you will spend most of your time just trying to apply. As well, everyone else on Bloodfin is a doc anyway, so you just become a neutral factor in PvP...won't die much but don't inflict too much pain.

Until the Combat Revamp, though...

Rifleman > Pistoleer

At Point blank Range.

You can PvP as a Doc Rifleman with Great success. You cannot PvP as a Doc Pistoleer with Great Success at the moment, because a Rifleman has the same Speed Cap as you ( 1 second ), and much better accuracy (even at point-blank)and they mindshot.

Right now there is no real reason to be a Pistoleer (by itself), unless you chain it with other professions, which should not be.

Problem with not having doc is that there really isnt all that much to spend your points on anyway. Capping dodge is nice, and BH/Pistoleer isnt bad, but I still think that doc is well worth it.

I am pistoleer/Doc and do well against most professions except for rifleman and their hated master headshot. . .

Healing states is vital when combatting a TKM. . .

you can grab TKA for the state effects and KD's/Lunge. Add in fencer with the rest and cap range and melee too , as well as defense against KD.

Yeah, I see where your coming from, andI toyed with the idea of doing the same. But i figured it can simply be intimidated and stunned away.

Anyways, we should duel to test some of this stuff out sometime

Let's not forget that the primary reason for people yelling "Cheap!" at Eye-Shot is simply because it's incredibly visible...i.e. you get "seeing clearly" spam every time someone uses it on you. Just imagine how much MORE we'd all whine about master headshot if system messages spammed us every time they used it.

i also have been pistoleer since the beginning. At first i was master pistoleer, bh 0040,,,,then i changed and picked up master CM (which was fun as hell); with the recent skill point change i have gone back to BH 0400 and kept almost all of medic. the Pistoleer/BH/medic combo is the best pvp combo in my opinion. The skill point change drastically improves pistoleer because now we can go bh and keep the medic skills.

i thought you made some great points.

my only addition would be the importance of armor and clothing attachments.

pistol speed and accuracy attachments have small importance,,,but the ones that really help are defensive attachments against stun, ranged, melee, dodge, ect. ect.

you are not a serious pistoleer untill you have spent at least 10mill on attachments. Just my opinion....gl.
