Personally I think novice medic is a great asset. The reason most people never get through the health pool anymore is because they can easily heal all the damage away. Don't forget that most professions can't target the mind pool.

you forgot air cake (10% filling, a MUST for any pistoleer pvper) and ahrisa
canape is good but eventually it'll fill up your stomach..... for long-time pvping, grab some ahrisa; the buff's not as high, but it lasts a lot longer
also vercupti has a filling of 66% (about)..... unless it's enhanced to lower filling (which is very hard to make since it requires domestic meat, wild meat, and berries for the additive), it's only useful as a quick buff to save you in emergency since it only lasts about 10 minutes
and synthsteak is a MUST...... enhanced you can get around 40% lowered damage for 40 attacks, only 20% filling
citrus snow cake (i think ti's called) raises your accuracy.... i haven't tried it yet but i don't have much trouble hitting in pvp /shrug

Ok maybe someone can answer this because I didn't get anything from the CSR. I fought a dune kimo one night and it hit mostly health (I had 40 dodge) then I used 22% air cake and it started hitting my mind mostly. Air cake wears off and back to health hits. I thought dodge would increase COMPLETE misses more not change which HAM is hit.

why the hell would you want novice medic.

in pvp you are going to be fully buffed, and the only way you are going down is mind. use the skillpoints somewhere else. better yet, just drop all of pistoleer because it is so pathetic right now.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Eye shots over rated. Last ditch, low blow are pretty good specials, pistoleer specials lack except for fanshot which is decent. Last ditch for the win though.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm currently Master pistoleer/BH pistols 4 and I find eyeshot to be the most effective special in my arsenal. Eyeshot with a nice Geo works well. I've taken all sorts of opponents down with it. Mind buffs aren't always easy to come by when your rushing to meet an overt oppenent and the mind pool is usually the weak link for many opponents, unfortantely eyeshot is the only way we can target the mind. Bang in bleeds with a modified republic then head for the mind with a Geo, obviously mind buffs and brandy will help you a lot along with synthsteak and a PSG. I have a full set of high base comp armour with a high stun special protection. As long as I'm not lagged and can Kite melee opponents it's rare that I get taken out by single opponents!

Last ditch is a strong attack but it is a random HAM hit. I must admit I'd like to try it with a Geo though.

Well, again please keep in mind that I am talking about skilled pvpers not guys that run around without proper preparation. In my case I rarely go out looking for a pvp fight without entertainer buffs and brandy and canape with a muon or nuetron pixie waiting.

I had and thoroughly tested BH pistols with master pistoleer. I used a 440 scatter and only a 330 geo. I really wanted it to work, but in the in end you just dont have enough defenses. Right now if I decided not to put you on your back with suppression fire coupled with dizzy, I would still have my 700 T21 or 620 acid rifle or 400 jawa all hitting your mind or whatever is weakest at the speed cap. I would put a stun and intimidate on you as well. If your armor is high on stun then it low on other areas. It wouldn't take long to figure that out. As much as I hate it, I doubt you could stand under that kind of punishment.

... At least I couldn't when I had it..

Maybe I've just been lucky? The KD's are a bummer but hopefully our state defences will get sorted just don't hold your breath!

That guide has some ineteresting stuff in it. I had been debating over the past couple whether staying master pistoleer (after 7 months) was a smart move. I am virtually uselss in pvp as I am a dedicated MCH. A pistol was the first gun I ever picked up, and while climbing up CH I inadvertantly climbed pistols as well, figuring wth, might as well train it. Now i'm master at both, and although I can take out a good majority of stuff on my own w/ a lvl 69 razor cat, it still seems i'm rediculously unefficient for things like pvp, and when up against things like SBD's and DW wraiths, and even force crystal hunters. No matter if fully buffed, on brandy/canape, ent buffs and all the other extras.

I admit I do retain novice medic and pharma 3.....keeping my high ham pets healed during combat makes life easier (and gives me more time to run away should I get in to deep). I'm not ready to drop pistoleer, i'm proud to have mastered it, and enjoy it for the most part. What I want to know is, would sacrificing novice medic (and essentially the ability to double heal a 12k ham pet), and picking up 0040 in smuggler make me more effective...not really in pvp persay, because CH will probably always be little more thanuseless for that, but as a combat pistoleer in general. Given my situation could the sacrifice be worth it? Are the gains such as intimidate and low blow and last ditch enough to make pistoleer morepowerful (and maybe more fun)? Does it add some sort of defense mechanic? Or should I just give up and go TKM? I love fighting beside my pets, so rifles isnt an option And with the combat rebalance not so far off (from what i've read screwing up all professions except CH which got it's shot in the ass in Jan),is iteven smart to be dabbling in new profs right now since they will all be different soon enough?

I am just trying to keep the game fun for myself...holding me over until JTL. I will never drop CH, so dont bother suggesting it lol. But any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

Well, if you're a CH feel free to drop medic. You can use pet stims without medic.

Not sure about your servers, but on the "unofficial PvP server", Bloodfin, all of the aforementioned templates would get chewed up and spit out So far the most effective temp I have come across for pistoleer, with Doc in it,is:

Master Pistoleer

Doc 4/0/3/0

Smuggler 0/0/4/0

This template requires plenty of tapes, DoT weapons, etc, but is really they only way to balance off healing states, poisons, and diseases, with maximum fire power. Get yourself some great DoT weapons, (personally I use 1-2 for each HAM pool and focus on whatever pool is weaker, usually mind). With Low Blow you can get the opponent on the groud, /warcry to keep them there an extra tick, or if you have a high damage geo, last ditch the crap out of them. Run a poison healing macro in the background and you are in the clear. Also with intimidate and warcry, our more or less pathetic Acc. can survive against fencers. Also, if you do not have a mind poison / fire pistol, I reccomend picking up

MPistols

Doc 4/0/3/0

CM 3/0/0/4

Allows around 300-500 tick poisons, although not as good as DoTed weapons because they do not reapply once your opponent clears them

Good guide tho, just need some doc templates in there
