Thread: Simple DE-10 Solution that would make us happy without unbalancing the weapon
The elemental damage fix should be in the next publish.
After doing a bit of weapon crafting last night, I agree with Darth-Kevlar on his point that nobody is going to craft a Krayt DE-10 when you can getthree Krayt DL44XT's instead.
The DE-10 is just not worth making.
I'm not convinced by the idea that each schematic has its own damage cap, I think it depends on the quality of tissues/shards you use.
We need to think of reasons why we would craft a Krayt DE-10 over three Krayt DL44XT's.
If you could pick one of the following, which one would you want:
- Cold Elemental Damage
- Accuracy Mods
- 45m Range
Personally I'd go for cold elemental damage.

All what I want is a Master Pistolero Pistol with the cool look of the DE-10.

I used a yellow barrel and 181 tissues on my DE-10, came out 371-960dmg (capped) 2.1 spd +17 acc 97 SAC 23% wound
Had an extra power handler left from the tissues and had him make a DL-44XT
I dont remember the speed, but the damage was (if I remember the min damage correctly) 364-948 dmg (capped) 2.06 spd +17 acc 83 SAC 10.35 wound
So really the DL44XT is in essense better.
The DE-10 really needs a boost and the Cold damage would be good.
These are both unsliced.

Hey Badger, check this out too...
The Scythe Blade, which is probably the weapon you can best compare to the DE-10 (ie, pre-CU weapon and takes special quest/components to make it) has a skill cert on it:
Level 50, Skill Box: Master Sword Finesse
So, yet again, this directly contradicts their BS explanation that they wanted quest weapons to be usable by everybody. And this isn't even a RotW weapon this time, it's pre-CU just like our precious DE-10!!!one!!

Just because I'm stuck at work watching progress bars, I'll throw in my 2cr
I'd always imagined the DE-10 would be a heafty hand-cannon with a slow refire, enormous punch, and fatiguing kick... It simply has that "Dirty Harry" look to it. Mind you, since realistic dreams and SWG dont mix, I'm likely just typing to read my own post here.
With those elements in mind, my suggestions are as follows:
- Highest damage cap in game for a pistol: It can share this cap with other weapons, I wont mind, but the minimum should beextreemly high as well, pushing the DPS up (actual DPS, not just "estimated").
- Enormous Wound chance
- Little or no accuracy bonus- its not easy to leverage a barrel that big up without bracing
- Kinetic damage: Its a revolver for crying out loud
- High SAC: Big guns carry a big kick and will turn your arm to jelly after a while.
- Slow speed: again a reflection of a powerful kick, wrestling the barrel back down to the target after the beast's barrel-rize puts your arm above your head.
- BIG BOOM: gimme a break, the sound of this thing should be tremendous. On par with a high-caliber kinetic rifle.
The end result is a slow-fire weapon that would have as many reasons not to use it over a light-recoil, lighter-damage weapon. Throw in a skill mod while your in there, say a Melee Defense bonus to represent the general dislike for someone to get closer to a maniac wielding this greatly intimidating handgun.
All in all, "dumbing down" the DE-10 to a level 54 weapon was a big mistake IMO, as it takes far better than a cl 54 character to obtain it. I like alot of the other ideas here, and I know most of the above wouldnt exactly be well recieved, but there might be a gem or two in there for ya.
