you could make it quest-based, like the pilot quests.

so you do four or five assignments for this trainer, and he gives you the option to learn one of the boxes. They higher you go, the more difficult it gets, and they would have to be difficult to begin with.

More than likely if this sort of idea was implemented all professions would get the option, which makes this somewhat simple-to-code procedure a much larger ordeal. I still like the idea and believe that if we were only allowed a certain amount of specials gained after master via xp cash-ins then it should work to my liking.

And Turd, you'll rarely find a Ranger willing to cry nerf, no matter the horrorstorm of revamps involved.

I definitely wasn't infering that man, I was refering to the 'people' that have cried for nerfs to those other professions, now suddenly are crying nerf to the rangers as well. You know, the whiny people.

I would throw something in like a combination of the special music deeds quest and the knight trials. It's far to easy to go get xp. I went out and finished an fs line in a few hours. I think that you should have to run unlocks to get the lines, and make each line worth getting. Maybe one each of accuracy, speed, damage, and defenses, with specials in each. Make each box worth 1 or 2 skill points, so this would prevent dabblers. Each line would have it's own useful attacks, and all high damage or aoe's wouldn't be in 1 line, there would be versions in each line.

The system for gaining new "elite" skill trees would be great if it would mirror the Pilot progression. A mix of missions and grinding. They've set it up already. Think about your pilot training. Go do various missions associated with your pilot faction. Sometimes you do missions and then grind to progress up one level. Then, on the next level, you do a mission, grind, train; rinse repeat. Third level, you complete a long mission, you get trained. (I haven't made it to fourth tier yet, but you get the idea).

Why not have a system that allows masters of elite professions to "unlock" Advanced and Improved versions of their moves.

For instance, you can turn in and bank pistol xp to a Pistoleer trainer the same as with Paemos in the village and after amassing a certain amount , you can choose to unlock, for instance, Advanced Disarming Shot, Advanced Fan Shot or Improved Intimidate Shot... or even completely new moves all together.

It would give players that are not intersted in jedi something to work towards. This would, of course apply to all elite professions (and maybe basic ones too).

Just a thought (along the lines of "unlocking"), but I think there is a major (inherent) disadvantage right now with using a Pistol in combat as Rifles are the most viable combat option simply because of the range and the ability to dabble short range crowd control specials and use them from a distance.

My personal opinion would be that Rifles should have a "restriction" that would limit the ability to use specials with a Rifle that were dabbled. Being a Master Pistoleershould "unlock" the ability to usePistoleer specials with a Rifle.

In other words, if you are dabbling pistoleer for Stopping shot, then you could only use Stopping Shotwith a Pistol and not with your Rifle. But if you are a Master Pistoleer, then you could use it with any weapon (including a Rifle).

The exception would be that any special could be used with a Pistol (including dabbled Carbineer and Rifleman Specials). I think this would help to add some needed "disadvantages" to using a rifle andincrease the use of Pistols in combat.

Just a thought.

Great idea...for all non-glowstick professions.
