I like this idea... a lot. But I do agree with the "it will just be a race to the top for everyone to be the best and unlock all the new things!"

But how about this-- Lets say theres a special version of each of the attacks we already have, but we are only ALOUD to unlock a few of them.

And on top of that, have a set of totally UNIQUE skills, that you can only accuireONE of, but a really hard quest. Just that you have to pick which one you get.

Thing with this is, everything would have to be very balanced, otherwise everyone would pick the same skill.

I think this would make the end game better, and make people unique.

I think you've got a lot of good ideas in here. Someone mentioned earlier a musician song that they had to do quests to get the deed then spend xps to get the song. Isn't this basically what you're talking about? You have to do a lot of fun/hard quests to get the skill, but at the same time you need xps to actually use it.

Spider: The boy's weird, Channon. You should trade him in. Or sell him for salvage.

Channon: Yeah, right. Take advice on relationships from a man whose ex-wife won't come out of cryonic freeze until he's dead...

Spider: Who told you that?

Channon: You did.

A pause.

Spider: Silence. I am watching television.

how about a set of quests not unlike the village, but for ranged profs (have a seperate one for melee) with no class distinction. have just a few boxes that you must pick one, of which a special abilitythat each individually complement a certain combat role (ie one for dmg, one for crowd control, etc) any master ranged prof can now pick 1 box from these to do a quest for, maybe take out the xp requirement, ala village.

with this system this would allow, say a Mpistol to have a dmg shot that actually puts it on par with critshot or legshot, or give Mrifleman a special that gives them a crowd control action. something along those lines...

AWESOME IDEA BADGER!!!

although i think just an xp grind isnt enough for this. In order to reduce "uberization" maybe only 1 or 2 unlocks per mastery??

and different things to the specials as well.
so 2 or 3 different variables per special

Advanced Body Shot 1 - increase in dmg given as well as SAC
Advanced Body Shot 2 - chance to mezz target (same dmg output as improved body shot)(30% chance of mezz)
Advanced Body shot 3 - huge accuracy, as well as SAC

Improved Intimidate shot 1 - higher chance to stick intimidate (+40%)
Improved intimidate Shot 2 - longer lasting intimidate (30secs)

Advanced Disarming Shot 1 - KD's opponent as well
Advanced Disarming Shot 2 - Adds a 5 second snare AFTER disarm wears off
Advanced Disarming Shot 3 - larger dmg output

stuff like that, you should propose some ideas like this to the devs

Thats kinda like a mini version of the Elite Elite classes idea. I like it.

Ya know... I had an idea kind of like this one. Things I would definately like to see are holsters, and being about to "Pistol spin" if you would... such as the old American Gunslingers did, using the trigger guard of the pistol to fling the gun around in a showoff type of manner... Such as like a dancer would do, and you can throw in an amount of flourishes... Would make for some pretty neat competitions IMHO...

Could we make the "End game" Profession take 4 SP? Because in most cases a finished template has 4 SP Left.

It could be a way to add more content for professions, but I doubt the devs will really look into it.

As for pistoleers, all I would ask for is that Body Shot would have the same damage modifier as Leg Shot and Head Shot (not sure why those two have the same modifier, I thought carbines were supposed to be the midway point in terms of damage between pistols and rifles), Disarming shot last more than 5 secs (hehe maybe too much to ask, though it has saved my butt on a few occasions after a jedi has rooted me) and maybe have states do something (although they are useful when people individuals waste action using recoveries).

I was on TC-Prime Earlier, Disarm Shot now has a 20 second "Rage" immunity when it wears off where no other daze can be applied, startle I assume does too.

Why not have a system that allows masters of elite professions to "unlock" Advanced and Improved versions of their moves.

For instance, you can turn in and bank pistol xp to a Pistoleer trainer the same as with Paemos in the village and after amassing a certain amount , you can choose to unlock, for instance, Advanced Disarming Shot, Advanced Fan Shot or Improved Intimidate Shot... or even completely new moves all together.

It would give players that are not intersted in jedi something to work towards. This would, of course apply to all elite professions (and maybe basic ones too).

I had thought about something similar...

I would like to see something along the lines of:

Novice Pistoleer:Basic (or Novice) Firearm Strike, Basic (or Novice) Burst Shot, Basic (or Novice) Disarm (or Novice) Shot, and Basic (or Novice) Fan Shot
Tier 2: Improved Firearm Strike, Improved Burst Shot, Improved Disarm, Improved Fan Shot
Tier 4: Advanced Firearm Strike, Advanced Burst Shot, Advanced Disarm, Advanced Fan Shot
Master:Master Firearm Strike, Master Burst Shot, Master Disarm, Master Fan Shot

crowd control will be nearly impossible with this.

Fantastic idea, but I have a gut feeling it would give the 'people' whining about BH, CM, Smuggler and now even Rangers a new profession to cry nerf at.
