who knows if the supposed revamp of combat pts/dmg is gonna change this, but the whole "range" thing should be effecting things more in my opinion. riflemen should do most from 65-50, carbineers 35-50, and pistoleer 35-15 (melee 15-0). the whole system should reflect that. my pistol pretty much does the same dmg whether i'm at 64 or 1. I know how far you are affects your accuracy, but most people would stop whining if things were made more "equal".
I'd be somewhat happier w/pistoleer if we got more speed then a rifle or carbine.. especially at master. lets face it, pistols are NOT supposed to do as much dmg as a rifle or carbine... but speed? HELL yes. And as of right now, that is not the case.

There's more +pistol speed in the game than +carbine speed, and more +carbine than +rifle.
The problem is that for both pistols and carbines, only about 70% of their total +speed bonus is in the elite weapon profession - the other 30% of their speed bonus is in the Bounty Hunter profession. A Master Gunfighter/BH Pistol 4 build sets you up with a nice bit over +100 to pistol speed if I recall rightly... the most +rifle speed you can get from a build is +95 as I recall.
But, the speed equation in general is pretty screwed up, and only the slowest weapon/special combo won't fire at capped speed if you have +95 or better. Master Gunfighter and a skill tape is all you need to cap pistol speed, though - you can spend money or time instead of skill points to improve your pistol speed.

+rifle speed you can get from a build is +95 as I recall.
master marksman/master rifle is 100+

God damn. that pisses me off. Another person who just dabbled in pisol and gets all our benefits along with all our guns. They really need to make it so you get certified in pistol dodge or dead-eye tree. That way only pistoleers will be able to get the benefits of being a full pistoleer!

There are no uber 100% 1 elite professions out there, they all have weaknesses.

I'd say Jedi are pretty uber
I've seen one kill about 20 rebels 1 after another without taking hardly any damage.

i dont think ANYONE can solo any creature in the game, tlk, much less us.
